We have just returned from a lovely night spent at Winder Hall. We booked the hotel through an offer and regreted it slightly after buying it as it was so far from where we live, however it was well worth the journey.
As we arrived we were greeted and shown around, the warm and lovely smell of the open fire hitting us straight away. We were shown to our room and had afternoon tea brought up, freshly made fruit flapjack which was lovely. The rooms are old but have character and a warm feel to them. There was a modern powerful shower. We had a four poster bed which was very comfy and a huge old blocked off fireplace. There was even little touches like homemade fudge and mints in the room.
We had and hour to kill before dinner so as it was going dark we went in the hot tub which even in february was gorgeous!
Canapes and pre dinner drinks were served in the lounge by the open fire before we were individually taken through to the dining room. The food was absolutely gorgeous. we were then served tea and coffee back by the fire with petit fours.
After dinner we took the torches provided and walked down the lane to the local pub.
Breakfast the next day was lovely although there could have been slightly more choice on the cold bar.
Had a lovely time here just wish we could have stayed longer.
