“perfect for a relaxing weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

from the moment we arrived we felt at home, its so relaxed that you almost forget you are in a B&B, we stayed in room 8, which has a great view over the rolling hills, clearly the property has been tastefully renovated, we cannot stand stuffy dining rooms where you feel you have to wisper, not here, Tim the owner would not allow that, first the puzzels, which are a bit of fun and the conversation/food starts the day off perfectly, its in a good location, highly recomended, well worth a visit

Room Tip: room 8 has a great view, but room 6 has a seperate lounge area so will try that next

“Great rooms, superb hosts, yummy breakfasts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

Our last minute visit to Haven Cottage turned out to be a delight and I thoroughly recommend a trip there. Tim and Lindsey are attentive and switched-on hosts, who do their very best to help you to have a great visit - recommending places to eat, making sure guests are comfortable and helping you to feel genuinely at home. We stayed in Room 3. It was lovely, top quality fittings and immaculately clean. Tim's breakfast and home-made bread were scrumptious and all the ingredients best, local quality. Book a visit to Haven Cottage - you won't regret it!

“The best of the best!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

This is the second time we have visited this year and our visits must add up to quite a few over the years now.We just can't help going back to see Tim, Lindsey and of course Jake! This place just feels like home now. We love all the rooms and i think we have stayed in nearly all of them. The breakfast is delicious, the home made bread and jams are gorgeous. Jake is the star of course he is just so friendly , i think he gets it from Tim (he is a really good host)The parking is a benefit and Ambleside has loads to do and see. It makes you want to move there!!

Room Tip: All rooms are lovely

“Beautiful cottage accommodation and perfect hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

We are so glad we were pointed in the direction of this B&B by Trip Advisor. As it was our anniversary we treated ourselves to a stay in Room 8 which was gorgeous, very stylishly decorated and had a boutique feel. The views from the room were fantastic, and the location was perfect as it was quiet but you could stroll into Ambleside in minutes. But as previous reviewers have said, what really makes this place are the hosts, we sadly didn't get to meet Lindsey but were ably looked after by Tim and Jake the Lab. Tim has a wicked sense of humour which we loved and his warmth and charm were a breath of fresh air. And I can't neglect to mention the amazing Breakfasts, definitely try the vege sausages, they are delicious!

Room Tip: Room 8 is perfect!

“Another perfect stay at Haven Cottage!”

We have just come back from you second visit at Haven Cottage and we cant wait to go back again! We took advantage of their discounted offer and stayed in suite 6 this time, and what a treat it was! We had our own balcony with a lovely view over the fields, our own lounge with TV to sit in, but the best bit was our very own huge stand alone bath in the bedroom! A real bit of luxury on a chilly day...
Tim's breakfast doesn't disappoint either, its fantastic! Everything on the plate is local good quality produce, the black pudding our particular favourite - plus the homemade bread is a nice touch. But its really Tim and Lindsey that keep us going back, they are such genuinely lovely people, they make you feel so welcome. They even donated money to my partners 'Movember' charity (after much mocking of his moustache by Tim..)
We will be definately be going back again in the new year!

Room Tip: Suite 6 is truly amazing, especially good for couples as very romantic
