We stayed on a night stay as we were passing through Ambleside and found the hotel to offer all the comforts of home at a very reasonable price.
The staff were very friendly and only to willing to offer you any help during your stay.
The rooms themselves were very clean and modestly decored with the emphasis being on comfort.

Well worth a visit

Me and my brother recently stayed at the bed and breakfast and had an excellent 1 nite stay. It is ideally located, our room was nice and comfortable, full english in the morning was bingo and evreyone was very friendly, along with this we had the added bonus of the spa facilities located in the langdale valley which were first class and just what you needed after a days walking. I really couldnt fault it and would reccomend anyone to stay there.

Initially booked this room for a two night stay, a couple of months back for a wedding. However, as the wedding date arrived, we were informed that a local route to the wedding itself from the Gables was closed to vehicles. We spoke to the owners about this on arrival, asking if we could stay for just the one night, and cancel the second. After a brief dabate, the owners kindly agreed to refund the majority of our second nights stay, taking payment only for costs. Which we thought was very fair. The b and b itself was ok. The downstairs was welcoming and cozy, however the room was standard. The bathroom needed some updating, We were grateful of the extra heater inside the room, due to the time of year. The hosts were friendly enough. Brilliant location for anyone visiting the area. Lots of lovely little bars and shops. Breakfast was ample and tasty. Free parking at the rear was very handy. All in all we were happy with our stay at the Gables and recommend it.

Had an excellent 2 night stay at The Gables. Our room (room 2) was very spacious and extremely comfortable. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, and the full english breakfast was very tasty, and just what we needed before a long walk.

The location of the guesthouse was perfect with many shops, bars and restaurants within easy walking distance.
