“Lovely Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

My husband and I spent one night at the hotel in Room 31 which was exceptionally large and well appointed. It has a great view of the lake, interrupted by the road, but this didn't detract at all. Wonderful wet room and a very comfortable bed with crisp linen. All the staff were friendly and professional from check in, when we were shown to our room by a very pleasant young man , through to dinner and breakfast, when we received excellent service to check out. The food was lovely and served in a most appetizing manner. We had a lovely relaxing break and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Room 31 is very large, it has a great wet room and suitable for two small children in concealed bunk...

“40th Birthday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We have just spent a four night break at the Regent to celebrate my 40th Birthday and all in all had a very pleasant time. The hotel is modern and clean and the staff are great. Our special thanks to Steve, Darryn and Ramona who went that extra mile to take care of us. We booked one of the suites as it was a special occasion and although not blown away the room was spacious, clean and well appointed. If I can be ultra critical the Television is that far away from the bed you need binoculars but this is a minor point and we coped. The bar is nice and the service is good. The breakfast was excellent and probably one of the best my husband has tasted. You could mix and match and nothing was too much trouble, what you ordered is exactly what you got. We had dinner once at the hotel and although it wasn't bad we were not drawn back a second time. It was all a bit too rich for us but that is purely personal taste. We always judge our visits to hotels on the basis of would we go again and the answer to that is yes we would. Lovely location, great views and good staff. The only issue is the walk to Ambleside but hey the lakes are for walking in so enjoy.

Room Tip: As we had friends staying with us we saw our room which is room 30 (suite) nice, spacious and well a...

“Birthday treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

The hotel is located lakeside and is pefectly situated for walking on the fells, into Ambleside or for taking a boat trip either across the lake or to Bowness.
We arrived on Friday afternoon and were welcomed into a double room in the main hotel building. It was scupulously clean with crisp white bedding and fluffy white towels.
We had booked a dinner, bed and breakfast break and enjoyed pre-dinner drinks in the bar whilst choosing four courses of locally sourced and beautifully presented food served in the dining room. On return to the bar and lounge areas, we were served with coffee and hand made chocolates. The service we received was excellent - staff are helpful and committed to making your stay enjoyable.
The hotel has recently undergone a programme of building and refurbishment to extend the bar and lounge areas but maintains a comfortable, relaxed and intimate feel. We really like the decor which is contemporary and luxurious.
We will definately be booking another break to the Regent very soon.

Room Tip: There is a range of rooms available in the main building, the courtyard and the garden. We like the...

Lovely stay in our clean and comfortable room right next to the lake. Spa bath was a welcome addition to the room after long walks in the cold and rain.
Food was very nice and breakfast is served till 12. Staff were very welcoming and eager to help where they could. Would definately recommend and re-visit.
