this was our first time to the lakes.we searched loads of b&b on the net.we decided on ambleside as it was a central place to visit other areas.sue and rays b&b had good reviews and good rates.we booked a 3 night stay for 13th-16thsept.we had a lovely room at top of the house.breakfast was great with cereals,fruit juice,yogurts,full english breakfast and toast and tea and coffee plenty to keep us going on our days walking.sue and ray gave us plenty of help on which place to visit and which walks to take.the house is situated in the middle of the town so not far to walk for evening meals.we will definately return next year.will definately recommended to everyone we know ro stay here.

The room was very clean and comfortable, with many little "extras" that some larger B&B's do not even think to provide. Although near to a road there was no noise or disturbance. Sue was most helpful and made us feel "at home" and very welcome, as did Ray when we met up with him. The breakfast was excellent and again, more than is sometimes offered in larger B&B's. The postion is great beng near to the town centre and to the bus sation and only a short walk to Waterhead and the Ambleside Pier to catch the ferry. We would certainly stay here again

Lovely friendly place. We chose it after trawling through any number of hotels in the Lake District and it was the best choice we could have made. Just minutes from the bus station where we hopped on to buses that took us to Grasmere, or to the Beatrix Potter house, it was ideally located. In the evening we just had to walk up the road to be spoilt for choice for pubs and places to eat as well as a huge number of adorable shops.
The English breakfast was so sumptuous that we dug in, despite being health fanatics. I can still see the fresh yellow rose on the table in front of me.
So welcoming - the doors were always open with Sue pottering about amongst her beloved flowers.
I hope I can go back next year for an equally relaxing few days.

We were really impressed with the decor, cleanliness, and overall high standards of this lovely B&B in the center of Ambleside. lovely genuine people, will definitely go again.
