This was a return visit and unfortunately not as restful as last visit.
When we arrived the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. We had a ground floor room which I was apprehensive about in case of noise from above but thought I was worrying needlessly so didn't ask to move. The room was next to car park, another slight worry but the noise wasn't too bad considering the place was very busy. Room/bedding very clean, plenty of tea, coffee, etc.
We had a delicious evening meal in the adjoining restaurant and again the staff were very friendly so retired to bed quite relaxed. Woken up just after midnight by very heavy footfall in room above, I was half-expecting to hear 'fee fi fo fum'!! I didn't report to reception as I thought it would stop after a little while and I didn't want to disturb other guests but unfortunately it went on for over an hour... By this time we were wide awake, not helped by the bright lights from the car park illuminating the room despite the heavy curtains. I was still watching the clock at 3am although hubby had nodded off!
Went to breakfast bleary-eyed, food was delicious again, only downside was that my husband's cooked breakfast was brought out while he was still eating his cereal which he then gulped down!
We would stay again for the lovely food, comfy beds, fantastic views of Humber Bridge and friendly, helpful staff but would definitely ask for room on top floor and away from car park :)
