Stayed just the one night before catching a Dover ferry a couple days before christmas. Hotel looked virtually new, very clean and tidy. There is room for a few cars in a little pull in outside the hotel. Fine to checkin and drop bags off. We did a bit of shopping at the massive Asda a few miles away and got the timing right for the car park next to the hotel. I think it was after 7pm the overnight is cheaper, only until 8am though. This multistorey was well lit, had cameras up and we managed to park on the bottom floor at the front, it seemed safe enough there.
We checked into our room which, by luck was one on the second floor I think right at the front of the hotel. If we hadn't of arrived at night and left before the sun came up the views of the harbour would have been great. No film on the windows like I have seen previous reviews mention. Standard TLodge room, all very spick and span.
As we were at the front I was expecting some noise, there was quite noisy karaoke from the pub next door, and a few boy racers playing on the mini roundabout. Ear plugs are standard for me and it wasn't a problem.
Had a few beers in the bar and a bit of food, Sharon even got some extra gravy on her lamb shank thing and my pizza was fine.
All the staff were friendly and pleasant.
This was a cheaper alternative to using the Ashford Lodge on that particular night, it's possible a little further to the port but not much and i'd use it again. Hopefully arriving a little earlier so we could have a look around.
