We stayed in a family room for one night as a stop over before we caught a ferry. After booking I found all these terrible reviews but didn't change hotels as I couldn't find anything else in Dover itself. Ok from the outside it looks awful hence wy there are no outside photos but inside it was ok. Clean, didn't smell, the lift worked fine if a little noisy and our room was perfectly adequate for the price we paid. If your expecting the Marriot go pay their prices! The staff were really friendly and went out of their way to help, eg serving a room service breakfast at 5 am that wasn't on the menu so our toddler could eat before the ferry. It is obviously quite an old hotel but do think that the price for the rooms reflects the fact this aint the ritz. All in all I would use it again for a ferry stopover.

Needed to book a one night stay for an early leave on a ferry to France, only room we could find. Staff pleasant, but everything dated and unclean to the point the whole place smelled. I have travelled far and wide using many different hotels and this was by far the worst I have been in, I actually prefer the Premier Classe in France to this! There was a layer of dust everywhere, we had no milk on our tray, and the view from our window through the wire gridding was like a bombsite. The bathroom was dirty, the sink was broken and it was just generally in a disgusting state.

This hotel is so behind on decor and cleanliness it should be shut down. The Lobby seems to be the only place that gets cleaned daily in hopes that people will check in, and that is how they get you. We booked this place with sight on unseen and because everything else was full. The room- First very dirty, the carpet had stains and a big sticky patch on it that my husband got his sock stuck in. The bed smelled like urine and the "balcony" was sealed shut! it had chicken wires closing it in and the window probably has not been cleaned in 10 years. The bathroom was so gross with mold everywhere and for 85 pound a night they are insane because the bed was like sleeping on wood. I slept with my clothes on and a layer of my clothes on, including socks! Avoid this hotel, sleep on the street if you must it would be less scary then this place!

Stayed here for one night on 2nd August. We couldn't find anywhere else to stay and dine in the area and were dropping friends off on a cruise and this was the reason for staying here. This hotel must not have been refurbished since it was built. Rust on the taps and mirrors and mould around the bath. and the noise from the traffic was very bad up to midnight. Double beds were more like three quarter beds and very uncomfortable for 2 adults. The evening meal was overpriced for what we had the the waiter service very poor. Breakfast was £5 and wasn't worth that with undercooked bacon and tomatoes. The buffet consisted of 3 choices of cereal and bowl of grapefruit and a few yogurts. Tea and coffee were unfit to drink. This is obviously used as a transit hotel for 1 night stays. Shame about this as reception and room staff were excellent.
