I spent one night in this B&B before heading for an early ferry and it was well located for doing so as it's about 10/15 minutes from the ferry terminal depending on traffic. Parking at this B&B is mainly in a specifically built layby, at the side of the road, which had plenty of parking space when I stayed, but might get busier once the house next food has finished being developed as flats.
The house that the B&B in is lovely and it's clear to see the effort Gary has time to in order to retain the original features. He is obviously had to delay doing minor parts of the house so some of the original 1930's glazing is damaged, but secondary glazing ensures the house and rooms are warm and quiet.
Due to the location of a fairly busy road at the front of the property and a railway line to the rear in a deep valley, if you have your windows open, there is a certain amount of noise, but this quietens down as the evening progresses to night and so wasn't disturbing.
I stayed in the double Raspberry room, which is currently not en-suite, but is soon due to have one added. It was an absolutely stunning, large and spacious room with lovely views of a very wooded and hilly Dover. All the usual mod-cons were there including a sofa in the bay of the window, Virgin media Tv and a Bose ipod dock/player. The bed was very comfortable and I slept like a log on the Tempur mattress topper.
Breakfast in the morning was nice, with the usual cereal, cooked breakfast and toast etc on offer, and as usual Gary was very attentive, welcoming and friendly without being overbearing or intrusive.
All in all I had a lovely stay and would happily return, and recommend to friends. The only thing I wasn't overly keen on was the fairly strong smell of bleach that seemed to hang over the dining room and was a bit off putting at breakfast. Having said that, I loath the smell of bleach and as such can detect it at 100 paces, so it could well be that others may not have found it as noticeable as I did.
