“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

I have just spent three nights in this Travelodge in Canterbury. (Have visited many Travelodges, so knew what to expect.) The location is a perfect base to explore this lovely city. All members of staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel was beautifuly clean. Room 105 was bigger than a regular Travelodge room, very quiet, and had the weather been kinder, I would say it was very comfortable. Unfortunately there was no heating in the large ensuite, so it was extremely cold. I would definitely return, but not when temperatures are below freezing. I do not usually have an evening meal in the hotel, but did so on the third evening, because it was so cold, and I did not feel like venturing out. The food was ok, and served quickly, but I won't bother next time! At £15 per room per night, it was still good value!

“Very convenient hotel”

The hotel has been renovated and is clean and bright. One drawback is that there is only one chair in each room and it is a hard plastic one. The staff are extremely helpful and the Hotel is in a good position to visit Canterbury. You have to cross under a busy road to get to the High St.

“Very good value for basic accommodation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Booked online in advance - £27 one night.
Big room, clean, good en suite and good shower.
Room cold, heater small and ineffective - take thick pyjamas!
Comfortable bed, no noise at night.
Breakfast ok - not much choice but plenty in the buffet.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Perfect choice when away on business.

“A noise problem in room 5.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Arrived at the hotel about 8pm Saturday 7th January. Parking no problem, checked into room 5 which was clean and comfortable. After going out for dinner and a walk, retired to bed to be awoken at 5am by noise which we felt was coming from above - sounded like people walking on a hard floor, heavy weights being moved around and some sort of metallic sound. When we mentioned this at reception later that morning we were told it was noise from an adjoining building being renovated?? - at 5 in the morning?? Has anyone else experienced a similar problem in this room?

“basic clean and friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

we stayed here at halloween weekend 2011 , its a lovely looking hotel from the outside, but seemed to have the traditional feel ripped out of the inside, its a verypretty touristy town so it wouldve been nice to retain a little of the original features, the staff were pleasant, the rooms were quiet, clean and did the job and it was very close to the town, it was also very cheap for the good value, but typical of travellodge places blank basic and a bit soul-less , I would stay there again however as it did the job .

Room Tip: choose a lower floor as no lift and stairs are steep and narrow
