“A noise problem in room 5.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Arrived at the hotel about 8pm Saturday 7th January. Parking no problem, checked into room 5 which was clean and comfortable. After going out for dinner and a walk, retired to bed to be awoken at 5am by noise which we felt was coming from above - sounded like people walking on a hard floor, heavy weights being moved around and some sort of metallic sound. When we mentioned this at reception later that morning we were told it was noise from an adjoining building being renovated?? - at 5 in the morning?? Has anyone else experienced a similar problem in this room?

“basic clean and friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

we stayed here at halloween weekend 2011 , its a lovely looking hotel from the outside, but seemed to have the traditional feel ripped out of the inside, its a verypretty touristy town so it wouldve been nice to retain a little of the original features, the staff were pleasant, the rooms were quiet, clean and did the job and it was very close to the town, it was also very cheap for the good value, but typical of travellodge places blank basic and a bit soul-less , I would stay there again however as it did the job .

Room Tip: choose a lower floor as no lift and stairs are steep and narrow

“Book cheap and it's great value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

We booked when travel lodge had an offer and only paid £12 a night. The rooms are large and the bathrooms clean. It was quiet and we slept well (except we could hear next door as clear as day, it sounded like they were talking down a pipe at us!).
The location is superb and parking great. Apart from hearing next door, it's a great all rounder.

“Really central and excellent value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2012

At the sale price of £29 this was brilliant value, particularly as it included free parking. The rooms are more or less what you would expect of a travelodge - our shower looked new and was really powerful. We had a room at the back, which was exceptionally quiet, so we enjoyed a great night's sleep. Didn't use the cafe bar as there are plenty of lovely cafes and restaurants in the town just a short stroll away - recommend Little Italy for inexpensive 2-course menu and The Bishops Finger pub for great atmosphere, good choice of beer and a lovely open fire - both on the high street. The cathedral looks stunning at night, so make sure you wander down there before your evening meal.

“Ideal for the center of town and easy to park”

This place is idea especiallyl if you get a cheap enough rate. Parking is easy if you get here early enough and do yourself a favour , check your sat nav address of it will take you to a set of bollards in the middle of the road!

The place is clean with a small cafe /bar and the rooms are clean and comfy, with tv, fridge, good shower and well heated. Ask for extra towels etc at reception nothing seemed to much trouble, to be honest sometimes I wonder why I pay fortunes for some hotels when a weekend break at a T/L (if you dont get stag/hennight on your floor) does the job.
