I stayed at the Thanington for two nights and it was for my partners 30th birthday and that we stay in Canterbury a lot as its our favorite place. The good points were that the hotel was reasonably clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was nice. But sadly this was spoilt. I booked a superior room which was £100 a night and the sites photos made it look great. However the rooms decor was very out of date. The room was a fair size but only had one radiator which was behind a chest of draws and come the evening the room was very cold. No duvets are supplied and only thin covers and due to no staff being on at night we ended up sleeping fully clothed with our coats over us. The toilet leaked and so did the towl rail in the bath room. To make matters worse our room had no double glazzing and so could hear the traffic all night long. Our room was also above the bar which again was noisy and the floor boards above us creaked with even the slightest of noise. The hotel does have a small car park but only parks around 10 cars and if you drive anything large you end up taking 2 spaces. All in all i would def not use the Thanington again :(
