“can't wait to go again :-)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

Iffin Farmhouse is an absolutely lovely location to stay more than just a night or two. It is the ideal place to calm down surrounded by nature. Iffin offered just what we were looking for: a peaceful environment, comfortable rooms and excellent food, breakfast and dinner. the family and staff are very kind and lovely. We enjoyed our trips to Canterbury (5min by car), Sandwich, Whistable, Dover and London. Everything is close by. We have also done some walks around Iffin. The landscape is easy to access and lovely to walk. A little Pub-hopping is a nice idea, as there are many cosy country pubs around. It is a good location for a weekend trip 4 days and we will come back for another weekend trip in 2012. 'd would be lovely to enjoy a tea in the garden in spring.

“Iffin Farmhouse in November 11”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

My wife and I stayed here for a one night stop over while at a local wedding. For a bit of a change we stayed in the Orchard Pickers Cottage which is just a short stroll from the house (past the pony paddock). It was well laid out, clean and comfortable, with a good heating set up (both fire and radiator).
We were initially very pleased with our pick, and the hosts were very welcoming. Our breakfast the next day in the main house was very ice, and the prices reasonable.
We only had one issue, and unfortunately it was a bit of a deal breaker for us. The cottage itself is situated at the top of a small rise and has a window built into the roof for extra ventilation and light. It was this window that ended up keeping us up all night as the wind was quite strong and it caused a loud whistling within the cottage itself. Very disappointing, and not a jot we could do about it other than try and ram the earplugs in harder!
I imagine in the summer the cottage is an absolute delight, but we wouldn't risk it again in winter and would opt to stay in the main house if we are down in Kent again.

Yes, in the Spring and Summer the views from the Cottage across the area of High Landscape Value are stunning.

What terrific winds we had that night - we lost trees and part of our thatched barn!

As part of our committment to the environment we have planted trees on two sides of the cottage to act as a wind break and make it more secluded however they are still only in their second season of growth and have a way to go!

“One Night Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2011

Once found (needs careful observation in the dark!) after the GPS says you 'have arrived', when one hasn't quite, the farmhouse is very welcoming, and so is the dog! A comfortable 3 suite B & B, really in the countryside, yet only 2 miles from Canterbury centre.
Excellent breakfast will keep one fed until dinner! Well appointed, with lots of pictures and trinkets to see. Not sure where the IFFIN name came from, but this B & B is certainly not IFFY!! When in Canterbury, stay here (if you can get in!).

Room Tip: Any one from three!

“Lovely Place.”

My wife and I were due to be staying in Kent for one night to visit old friends but needed somewhere that was able to cater for canines as well as people, after some sifting and recommendations we settled on the old Iffin Farmhouse and yes, it is old. Some parts of it date back to the 17th/18th century. It is set on the outskirts of Canterbury which means a walk into the city centre would probably take on the far side of half an hour but that said, it also means that the little winding country lane where it's situated remains virtually completely undisturbed should a full nights sleep be your thing.
Finding it was a pretty much all down to the sat nav, I wouldn'yt have liked to have tried to find it in the dark with one of those old 'atlas' things, but once found parking was ample, our hostess was as pleasant as could ever be hoped for and the facilities were clean, plentiful and in good order.
Iffin has plenty of space for your average mutt to run around, a large grass lawn lies in the middle of the garden area and on the far side of the parking area were some seemingly contented ponies, or were they horses...? I never know.
Breakfast was comfortably bountiful and hot, a full English, cereals and all you'd expect including fresh fruit.
Overall we had very little to complain about, it wasn't five star but nor was it five star prices, it was good, clean, peaceful and yes, I'd certainly stay there again.

“perfect weekend escape!”

My wife and I were eager to get away from London for the weekend, but didn't know if we would find any places that would accommodate our 5-month old spaniel puppy. How wrong could we be! This is the friendlest and most accommodating B&B that you could find. The owners were wonderful - very laid-back and flexible. We got to choose when we would like breakfast rather than being forced to sit down at a certain time like so many other places. The food was excellent (local Kentish produce) and the room was large, very comfortable, and with lovely views of the surrounding garden, field and horses. The house is in proper countryside but only a 5-10 minute drive from Canterbury, one of the most beautiful towns in England and with lots of great pubs and restaurants. I would highly recommend Iffin Farmhouse - not just as a stop-off to or from France, but as an ideal (and not too far) weekend getaway from London. Would definitely come again!
