“My stay at The House of Agnes”

I stayed at the House of Agnes for 3 nights during the spring time in 2011. I was staying in the newly built Barne which sits to the rear of the main building. The room wa great, warm, modern and very quiet. All you need was supplied and a breakfast came with the room price which although was nice, was a little small. The Hotal also has a Honesty Bar and is set in relaxing surroundings. I would definately recormend this hotel to anyone who is staying in Canterbury.

Room Tip: I stayed in the newly built barn at the rear of the main building. Very quiet and plenty of free pa...

“Such a wonderfull stay!! would stay again!”

We stayed here only for one night, we wish we had book another!! The hotel was so different, we stayed in the canterbury suite, which was just lovely, no 2 walls are the same, it was just lovely, so much better then your bog standard hotel room. The 2 staff we saw were very friendly and always happy to help. we was checked in straight away. It just felt so homely. One of the best things about this hotel has to be the honesty bar, you can just help yourself whenever you like, leave your room number & pay when you leave. Such a great idea. We should of made more use of it!! we have found it other hotels we wont just go to the bar for a quick drink, because we would rather have one in the room whilst getting ready so this was perfect. The breakfast was first class, you help yourself to cold breakfast bits (ceral etc) then they take an order for your hot breakfast etc, which was wonderfull. Also located is perfect too!! if you do stay here i would also say to go to the fish restaurant Champmans which is 2 minutes from the hotel. I couldnt be more happy with our stay. highly recommend staying here and we hope to come back soon, when the wheathers not so cold so we can enjoy canterbury again!!

Room Tip: They all looked amazing!

“Doesn't get better than this...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Two stable rooms, two nights for two couples. Couldn't fault anything at all! Rooms were bright, exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated, with fabulous touches, like underfloor heating and an enormous powerful shower in the bathroom. Admittedly there is a train line directly behind the stables, but considering my husband is generally a fairly light sleeper, the noise was minimal and we both slept like logs. Bed was supremely comfortable too. We must have encountered 7 or more members of staff during our stay and all of them were polite, friendly, well presented and couldn't have been more helpful if they'd tried. Nothing was too much trouble. If the House of Agnes charged double their current tariff, we would still go back and stay again. Just FABULOUS!!!!!

Room Tip: Stables rooms are great with parking right beside them.

“Would go back in a flash”

We spent one night in the Paris room and would thoroughly recommend it to all those wanting a lovely weekend away. The hotel is right by the train station and only a few minutes to town. It is also close to the Good Shed which we would also advise people to pay a visit to. The breakfast is divine and the honesty bar is such a good idea. Thank you very much for a lovely stay.

Room Tip: The Paris room is at the front so there is a bit of noise from passers by and cars but nothing that...

My aim at the House of Agnes is to provide a comfortable, relaxing stay with good service, good food, a comfortaable bed and a hot, strong shower! If I have achieved that then I feel my job is well done. If my guests are happy then I go to bed feeling good. It is so nice when we get positive reviews, it makes our efforts worthwhile...Thank YOU !!

I went for 3 nights with my wife, we chose the Boston rm due to the size of the bed , but SANDY the owner showed us all the rooms , they all looked good and all different , having their own indurvidual style .
The breakfast was very good cooked with all local ingrediants , cooked to order not greasy at all , the only down side could be the noise but it did not affect us , but some people who sleep light might be affected .
There is an honesty bar , three sitting areas , papers , guide books, DVD library , games , and plenty of books etc. the beds were very good , and the whole building was spotless .plenty of free parking as well , and a 10 minute walk into town .

Room Tip: Boston or Vienna for size beds and quite ...
