We arrived at this hotel at about 9pm and left at about the same time the following day. The hotel is basically a long corridor with rooms off each side. The girl at reception couldn’t at first locate the room we are in and most of the doors were open and looked like they were in mid cleaning. (the same the following day)

The room was large with nice decoration good tea selection. The bathroom was very small as said in another review but the shower was very powerful which is not always the case. There were large cobwebs hanging off the ceiling in the bedroom, which as an arachnophobic is not nice.

We did not require an evening meal but I can imagine there may be some problems with the meals as its off site, I don’t think food really should be offered if not on site.

Breakfast was good, service good (there were only two other parties) it was served to the sound of GMTV on the TV, I think Sky News or something may be better but each to their own.

All in all if I was in that area I'd probably look elsewhere.

I have been working in the Hertford area for the past 2 years and have stayed in numerous hotels in the area.

I would recommend the Mulberry Lodge to anyone for numerous reasons:

Staff really friendly - and they care
Breakfast served exactly how you want it
Lots of nice places to eat around (the itailian that delivers is great)
Rooms are nice and big with comfortable beds

During my stays I have never had any problem.

Myself and my mam stayed at this hotel for 1 night and it was lovely. The receptionist was welcoming and friendly. Our room was lovely, clean and a good size. There was nice little touches to the room like 2 bottles of water, a shoe shine and a sawing kit and even a 'mublerry lodge' chocolate placed on a towel on our beds. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits were also provided in the room. We had a glass of wine in the lounge. We found the lounge to be clean and relaxing.

Our breakfast the next morning was lovely, the spanish chef who was also the waiter was very friendly and cooks each breakfast individually. There is also cerial to choose from, yoghurts, juice and toast is offered also.

If your after a meal in the evening, the menu looked very good. Its a set 3 course menu for £20.00 per person.
There are crisps and nuts available if your just after a snack but nowhere to get sandwhiches as it is in the country, so i would recomment to bring your own.

I would definiately recommend this place to anyone and would definately stay here again.

lovely quiet place to stay.very impressed with our room which was furnished to a high standard and was all very clean.stayed for one night and ate out at one of the local pubs where we had a great meal.full english breakfast was provided at the hotel and the staff were very freindly.will certainly stay there again
