“Wow what a find you can keep the others this was amazing”

We stayed for a family wedding and they stayed in the expensive Marriot in Ware. They paid the price I can tell you. Mulberry Lodge is beautiful. The room was large and stylish. Very clean with real attention to detail. The bed was a king size maybe even bigger and was beautiful to sleep in and even more wonderful was waking up to the horses and fields that surround the property. Breakfast was really great and the owners were very friendly with a dog to melt even the hardest heart. Cant wait to go back. Thinking of a million reasons to be back in the area and looks like we will be booking in October this year so hubby obviously loved it too. You couldnt be disappointed if you tried. “lovely place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2011

a fab little hotel/b and b, in a lovely setting. The rooms are excellent, plenty of room, and very comfortable. Good hot English breakfast, cooked to order by 2 very pleasant ladies. There is only breakfast available, but several excellent pubs close by. I would be most happy to stay here again and again

Room Tip: even room numbers have the best view over the fields

“Overall, it didn’t hit the mark for me.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 December 2010

I stayed here for a couple of nights. It is an odd mix of a place. It is essentially a very small - only 12 rooms – Bed and Breakfast. The rooms are all off a central corridor and when I arrived everything was in darkness and I had to grope around for a light to find my key which I been told I would find in an envelope. I did a found my room open and cold. The single electric wall heater struggled to bring the temperature up. The room was adequate (not large) with double bed (I booked a double room), desk/dressing table, casual chair and wardrobe and two bedside tables. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. On closer inspection the carpet looked a bit grubby. The bathroom was adequate with good powerful shower.
Unusually the toilet had an overhead cistern with chain! The Bath Panel was coming away at one end due to water damage. And the shaver point was not connected. Breakfast is taken in the large lobby area – no complaints, basic but tasty. The lobby area contains a comfortable seating arrangement, miscellaneous magazines and a flat screen TV and an honesty bar. The owner attends during the morning and evening to attend to arrivals and departures and called the day before my arrival to explain the entry code on the door.
There was a hospitality tray with complementary water and included hot chocolate, but neither were replaced on servicing. Nor was the shampoo and Bath Gel.
I ate in the pub down the road, which was fine, but the worst thing for me was finding the Mulberry Lodge. I had a map but I couldn’t find the route. The first night it took me an hour to find the place from Hertford.
Overall, it didn’t hit the mark for me.

“Very Nice Little Hotel”

Stayed here for one night over a weekend and was extremely impressed. Hotel is very small - only 12 rooms - and doesnt have a restuarant on site but that adds to its charm. The rooms were spotless and roomy, and the bathroom was very large compared to other hotels I have stayed in for the same price. I loved the fact our room looked over the fields behind the hotel - it was lovely waking up to a horse outside the window! Breakfast was cooked and served by a lovely man who made it exactly how you wanted it. Try the Italian in the next village for food - very good!
