Came here just for a one night escape and was pleasantly suprised. It was about 5mins walk from the train station and tucked away so it was lovely and quiet. The room was very spacious and had a really lovely bathroom too which I always look for. Everything was very modern and clean throughout the building. The bar area was a little draughty and cold due to the automatic doors and it being -5 outside but not really a complaint as a few drinks soon warmed me up! Reception staff were extremely helpful too in storing our luggage and giving us a later checkout the next morning to nurse a sore head!! Didnt get a chance to check out the other facilities but I would definately return.

Just got back from a one night stay at this hotel. Can only echo what has been said before really. Hotel is clean, comfortable and peaceful, staff are very nice and we had a lovely stay.
Would definitely go back.

We booked this hotel for 2 nights as our anniversary treat. The city centre is just under 10 minutes walk with great pubs and restaurants. The reception staff were all very helpful - we arrived 2 hours early and were booked in straight away - they also made every effort to assist us throughout our stay. Make sure you park around the back of the hotel - it is free. The rooms were very nice - the only negative that I have is that if you have been out exploring Winchester all day and come back for a hot bath/shower you may be disappointed as the water was far from scorching (this was only a problem in the evening!). The Sunday morning breakfast although busy was very well run. The Monday morning was deserted - my husband's request for 3 poached eggs sent the very rude female restaurant manager into a spin (apparently this is 1 and a half portions) - rather embarrassing listening to her shout at the waiter for agreeing to the request (even though my husband consumed nothing else)! Overall, a very good hotel with very professional staff (bar 1).

We stayed one night very recently and found this a very good hotel for a tourist visit to Winchester
Free parking and free internet always helpful and the 10-15 min walk to the city centre is easy and convenient
The outlook over a council car park is ordinary but staff are without exception friendly and helpful , the breakfast very adequate and the restaurant for an evening meal extremely good
Rooms clean and tidy - nothing exceptional
Overall a satisfactory visit ,the strength of the hotel in my opinion is its convenience and the quite excellent staff
