“A little poorer than Southampton Eastleigh”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Stayed twice on business (husband only) when Premier Inn was fully booked. Very poor in comparison to Premier Inn and a little worse than the Southampton Eastleigh Travelodge. Spartan rooms, lack of freeview channels on TV, poor quality bed and bedding and rather small rooms. A little noisy due to location, but that is not their fault....I like to keep the window open at night. The room just is very basic, stark white everywhere and does not feel welcoming or homely in the least. I almost felt like I was in an offenders institution for the night. Come on Travelodge....take a look at Premier Inn and what they are doing right !!!
On the plus side, probably some of the friendliest reception staff you are likely to meet, especially Jaz.

Room Tip: Avoid the single rooms. They are same price as double (often) but painfully small.

“Dont Even bother!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

I m afraid there is nothing good to say for this hotel,I booked two family rooms.

I had stayed with Travelodge is Chester and had a shocking visit due to the standards in the hotel...As compensation we were offered a voucher to book again...Wish we hadnt bothered!

We arrived at the hotel and had to wait for the receptionist to turn up.I have never seen such and un enthusiastic person in my life .I swear her face would crack if she smiled.

We had booked the two rooms for ourselves and another couple...
I knew it was not going to be good when we stepped off the lift. The hall had terribly stained carpets ,many missing lights and a horrid smell.

The room's were even worse,Ours had serious stains on the carpet and the fold out bed.The desk had so many chips and hols in it,there was weeks worth of dirt build up everywhere...even a large make-up hand print on the wall.

The bathroom has dried urine stains on the toilet and the last occupants hair on the shower/toilet.

Also the windows are not fit for purpose, the wind came through as did the sound..I even asked if the window was open?

I m afraid the other room was just as bad...its not a one off with Travelodge...they are all bad!

We checked in at 4.30pm on Friday the 13th and gave our keys back at 9.00pm the same night!!

“Okay for £12, not worth more”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

was a bit put off by all the bad reviews but it was okay. But that was tempered by the fact we only paid £12. Room seemed clean, very cold when we arrived, so we knew to stick the radiator way up. Bathroom heating was non existent so that was very cold. Noise from the busy road was a low lull noise all night, not enough to wake one up.

car park was good value at £3 for 24 hours.

Thank goodness we only paid £12 ,parking was £3 extra .Tatty room, laminate missing from the dressing table, huge stain on the bedsettee, you wouldn't want to even consider it's history
In need of a good clean ,doors dirty and bathroom awful ,a sort of grey- green bath and the sink overflow disgustingly black ,couldn't wait to leave ,we went to the relative we were visiting to wash .would never stay there again
