We stayed in a double bedroom with what they called an "en-suite bathroom", in April 2010. Other reviewers probably stayed in the same bedroom as we sympathise with many of their observations, especially the awkwardness in using the tiny little toilet at the end of the bed. You simply could not sit down and close the door unless you had the body of a five year old child; it was almost an insult especially when you heard, as we did, from the person in charge, that the owners where having a good time on their retirement at their house in France. Nothing wrong with that but somehow I would like to know if they had tried this toilet or if they had it like this in their retirement house. It made us very angry the way they treated their customers. Fair enough they wanted to maximise profits but the toilet, the little cubicula shower in a glad box at the end of the bed, where you would find it impossible to collect the soap from the floor if it fell, and the 7 to 8 AM window for breakfast were appalling examples of expensive and bad service: we thought that the £62 per night was a rip off. The person in charge did not even know how to operate the telephone when we requested to use it from our room; she kindly lent us her own but we just found it sad how you have to pay a lot for less all the time. Only the collective opinion of people expressed on sites like this could make this business consider treating its customers more fairly, so keep writing reviews to put pressure on them for better customer treatment. After al they depend on us. In their defence, the place was warm, clean and the manager polite.
