Staff were lovely, nice bar, that is all.

Carpets, room, bed etc all dirty and stained I really hated the level of cleanliness and my room was unbearably hot. Breakfast was ok but in terms of competition to modern day values this hotel gets beaten hands down on appearance and upkeep.

Clean, simple, old, breakfast is not the best (my husband thought it was tasty:)). Fire alarm went off at 4am and then 10-15 later another fire alarm... both times was false. I definitely wont back there

My friend and I have stayed in this hotel several times, we enjoy going to the Mayflower Theatre which is only 3-4 minutes walk away, it is also conveniently situated for West Quay Shopping Centre and Southampton Railway Station. The rooms are very nice and clean and of a good size. There is plenty of choice on the breakfast menu and the food is generally quite good. We will definitely be using this hotel again

Stayed on business mid week. Took the upgrade to room over looking park. Well worth it, lovely balcony, although over looking road, then park. Historic features in the high ceiling huge room, made a great comfortable stay. No iron in room?? Had to request one, odd. Staff very friendly, especially receptionists.
