I stayed at The Mayfair for 2 nights in December 2011 while in Southampton for training with 2 other people.
2 of us sharing and the other in a single.
Both Mark and Andy were fabulous hosts and they clearly know their business and do it amazingly well.
On arrival the house was lovely and christmassy, with the tv room having been decorated and made to feel really cosy. We had a lovely welcome from Andy (and a little later Mark ) and after a long drive it was nice to somewhere so beautiful, friendly and relaxed.
My room was gorgeously decorated, with every little detail having been thought of, from the placement of the teacups and spoons, the sweet little deco pot with cotton wool, the Southampton guide and the provision of lovely toiletries in the en suite to the super comfy ortho mattress which gave this weary lady a great sleep. Nothing had been forgotten.
Its the little things that matter and these guys clearly understand that its little things guests will notice, which in my opinion is a really unique and special thing.
Breakfast quite simply put huge smiles on or faces, not only do the boys provide a menu and will cook eggs in varying ways to suit your wants/needs/egg based desires but they give a great choice including cereals, juices, kippers, made to order omelettes and a varied selection of hot cooked breakfast items.
This is one thing that really sets The Mayfair apart- most places its just a bog standard "full English" the boys here again have gone one if not 2 or 3 better.
If you're in Southampton, in need of a place to stay....GO TO THE MAYFAIR! !
You will not regret it and will leave having felt really looked after and having had a great sleep, great service and great food.
Looking forward to getting back from my 6 month stint working on a cruise liner and going back for a visit.
