My wife and I stayed here overnight (we have stayed several times before) prior to catching the ferry to the Channel Islands. As we had stayed before we knew what to expect. Having pre -booked (we paid £29 for the room), check in was effortless and we were soon into our room. Like all Premier Inns, the rooms are fairly basic but comfortable with TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Unlike most Premier Inns (I believe this used to be a Tulip Hotel) there is only a toilet/shower room with the wash basin being in the bedroom. The walk in shower, with seat, is very good and like the bedroom was spotlessly clean. Drink prices are reasonable and the "all you can eat breakfast" at £7.95 was good value. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food is reasonably priced and of good quality from a fairly varied menu. There is a Beefeater across the road attached to an adjacent Premier Inn and there is a Pizza Hut, KFC and Tesco express nearby, all within walking distance. If you are catching an early ferry out of Portsmouth or arriving on a late ferry back this is an ideal place to stay.
