“Do not stay here!!”

I have never left a review before but this travelodge is by far the worst place I have ever stayed! When we got there no one was at the front desk, I waited for 10 minutes before someone came down, he was rude and didn't say sorry or ask long I had been waiting. We then got to our room which was so cold! No heating, the sink was blocked and the tap didn't turn on.!! I then looked inside the bath!which was also not clean or a nice colour! The arm chair had a big rip in the arm and the underneath was also ripped.
The kettle was clean but the side board it was on near the tv had big holes in it, the tv didn't work, they was also I pill cap from someone else who had stayed in the room, which just showed us that the room was not cleaned. In the wall next to the bed was a big hole! I have photos but can't upload them.
We checked out after 20 minutes but be told they couldn't give me a refund and I need to call the booking office, which I did but was then told I can only be helped if I fill in the form online!!!!!
I have done this but still waiting.
I feel this is such a bad review and didn't enjoy writing but wouldn't want anyone to experience this place!!!

“Depends on what you want.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We were two couples (late 50's) looking for cheap accomadation in the Portsmouth area for one night. This was not a Travel Lodge as we know them. We expected a basic but clean room but got a cold noisy room with broken doors. This hotel must be a stag & hen special and should be advertised as so. Staff very helpful though.

“Pompey pub crawl base.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Just a 1 night stay in this hotel, and we only just dumped our bags and went out exploring the pubs of Portsmouth. The hotel was a good 25 minute walk from the station, but it was a good low cost base for what we needed.
In the standard Travelodge format with double bed and sofa bed, both were comfortable and we slept well, we had a room overlooking the car park and didn't hear any noises at all. Room was clean and fresh, the only thing I could say to fault it was the black mould on the bathroom ceiling, but as I don't make a habit of touching it, it didn't bother me too much, but the problem should be addressed before it spreads.
Local area of North End has plenty of pubs and take aways for late arrivals, plus there is a pub attached to the hotel.

“great hotel shame about the receptionist”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

well food was lovely, great location but when we arrived home at 3am the receptionist was kicking 3 girls out for singing whilst coming into hotel and also kicking the 3 boys out who were in the room next door to us so it was very heated our group of 15 ended up 5 of us awake talking in my room playing music the receptionist came banging our door instead of asking us to keep it down or switch the music of he came charging in screaming get to your own rooms and go to sleep like our mums would have done then when 2 of us went to smoke he first he told us we were not aloud to go outside then when we finally got away from him we were talking to the boys who got thrown out and he refused to let us back into hotel eventually our friend let us in the boys had to sleep in there car we were walking up the strairs he called us white trash the guy was clearly tired he had been working since we arrived at 2pm sat afternoon and still there at 5am (against the law)

“Needs an extreme makeover”

Sadly I can only add to the negative reviews of this property. The room was on the top floor facing the ferry port, the corridor had a running black line from the lift to the room (obviously a bored or drunk guest). On arrival there was one set of towels, a bath and a hand towel which looked as if they hadn't been changed and looked grubby. My husband returned to reception to collect more pillows, more towels, a toilet roll and a tv remote control! The dressing table top surface was broken up. The couple we were with also had no coathangers in their room. Breakfast was reasonable although the tea was only just warm. Wifi in the bedroom was £5.00 an hour.

We won't be returning even if they only charge £15.00 per night.
