“The way they should be.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

upon arrival there was a greeting to rival all greetings, we were made to feel welcome from the start, the room was a little on the small side, but clean and tidy and everything we needed for a weekend break, the food was very good and well presented and all of the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, a good, well run hotel that other larger hotels could learn from. Thank you so much to all and keep doing what you're doing.

“An old fashioned hotel in a fantastic location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Pros -

Upon arrival we were upgraded to Room 25 on third floor. Absolutely fantastic views over the Solent, particularly at night. The king size bed was enormous and we had a really good nights sleep, flat screen tv with inbuilt DVD, the room was comfortable very clean and warm. Bathroom wasn't particularly modern but was spotless.

The restaurant wasnt open for dinner but the breakfast was wonderful. Freshly cooked, and very tasty food, with a very relaxed atmosphere.

The public areas, lounge and bar areas are quite crowded with furniture, which might benefit from a little "thinning-out" but there were beautiful lamps and pictures in all areas.

We were given a free parking permit for our car, which we parked almost outside the front door.

Cons -

The lift - very small and dated - felt like it might break down at any given minute (although to be fair it didnt ) - it doesnt go the basement (which is where the restaurant is - this may prove difficult for less able guests)

The windows open very wide for a third floor bedroom - maybe something to think about if you are travelling with children.

All in all though, a really good stay in an old fashioned (and by this, I mean staff with good manners!!) and very comfortable hotel.

The Jolly Sailor (a 5 minute walk away, is a good pub with great food !

“What a wonderful place to stay :)”

Jenny & Mark the owners, are wonderful, friendly people.
I had a two night break away with my sister, upon arrival we were upgraded to the king size suite with sea view, it was such a lovely room.
The cooked breakfast was fantastic, you must try the locally sourced sausages, Mmmmmmm.
Take a walk along the beach promenade to Gun wharf keys it is really refreshing and good to walk off the sumptuous breakfast!
All in all, me and my sister had a well earned break and were so pleased to have met such a lovely couple, who know how to run a hotel.
Thank you for a wonderful stay :)

Room Tip: Room 15 has a beautiful view over the gardens and towards the Isle of Wight

“Back Again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

I returned to the Seacrest after my last stay and I must say that this time was just as enjoyable, if not better. Super clean bedrooms and bathrooms, wonderful staff and a good breakfast. Terrific!
