“Worth a visit”

Just returned from a weekend stay at Best Western Royal Beach. What a lovely weekend we had. The room was sooooo big - it was lovely. It was rather quaint the way the floor is slightly uneven. The view from the dual aspect windows was fantastic. Having breakfast sat in the room overlooking the sea was an extra treat. The bathroom was on the small size but adequate and very clean as was the whole room. The breakfast was lovely. There was a wide choice and plenty of it. The whole hotel was very clean and all the staff were very pleasant and friendly. We cannot wait to stay again.

Room Tip: Room 305-dual aspect windows

“Tired but friendly.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Second time I have stayed now for work. Rooms very big but sparsely furnished and very dimly lit. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast adequate but bacon and eggs lukewarm. All told a tired hotel that has seen better days.

Thank you for your review, and the positive comments, eggs and bacon do lose there ideal temperature quite quickly and I have passed your comments on to the breakfast staff to look at ways of improving the same, Chris Gilmore General Manager.

“Disappointed”

I stayed here with my wife at a weekend for only the one night. The room was ok, slightly tired but all the usual facilities were present. On arrival at the hotel we were met with absolute chaos as a wedding party had spilled over from the bar into reception and we had to physically push our way through to the desk where the staff seemed completely disinterested.
The standard of food was excellent although we only ate breakfast at the hotel as we ventured out in the evening.
My biggest complaint would be parking. Dispite assurances from the hotel before our arrival we were unable to use their parking facilities, and due to the nature of its location the nearest free parking we were able to find was a 10 min walk away.
Overall I believe the value for money is poor regardless of its seafront location.

Thank you for your comments, I am sorry you could not find a car parking space as you must have arrived at the same time as one of our weddings, we do say on our website that we do not reserve parking and we do offer assistance with public car parking in the area. The reception team are normally both courteous and guest concious so I am very suprised at your comments and have passed them on to all in reception.

“Nice hotel, nice location, in need of a revamp!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

I stayed here in december with my partner! We was only there for a few nights which was plenty for me! The price for our stay was very reasonable, breakfast was excellent, didn't have any evening meals as we went out to eat! The hotel it's self is nice and big also kept clean and to a high standards. The bedroom I found was abit of a disappointment although the room was a good size, tv was a good size with freeview, the bed seemed to be a big let down, it was 2 singles pushed together which ment if you turned over in the night you fell down the gap and the bed would spread apart, so I didn't sleep well at all! Reception staff were really nice and polite aswell as the attentive restaurant staff, not so sure on the other staff members who across a little rude!

Thank you for a lot of positive comments, the zip and link beds we provide for queen size doubles are a hotel standard which should not come apart so I will pass on your comment to our housekeeper, thank you
