“Better than average for Travelodge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Stayed here one night while on business in Portsmouth. Handy location away from the city but good access to main roads. Small by Travelodge standards - it was an Innkeepers Lodge brand. Friendly, helpful reception. Clean, comfortable room. Harvester a minute's walk away for breakfast. Petrol station directly opposite. Couple of pubs in village about 5 minutes drive away.

“Very good value for a quick overnight stop (or two).”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

Needing one night's accommodation before attending an early morning sad event in Havant, my wife and I decided to give Travelodge a try. We found this one listed about four miles from our destination and took advantage of a special offer. We were pleasantly surprised to find what appeared to be a recently refurbished small hotel standing well back from a road junction and its traffic and fronted by an unexceptional Harvester restaurant. I had read that the hotel was previously in the Innkeeper range and suspect that an earlier review of several years' vintage on here was set in its previous Innkeeper life before its update.
The ground floor room faced the frontage and was spacious, almost adequately furnished and equipped with modern TV but not a great deal of furniture. Maybe it was because of a minimalist urge on the part of Travelodge, but the unusual open space of the room and some apparently misplaced and unused electric sockets suggest that some furniture of previous years has not been replaced. There was a double bed of course, springy but comfortable with an additional pillow (but only one) provided if needed. A table for the TV but only one chair. Possibly more bed linen, etc. could be called for but I doubt that more chairs would be supplied. A clothes-hanging area near the bathroom was equipped with adequate hangers for a short stay and the bathroom itself was modern, clean and equipped with handbasin, wc and large shower area with adequate supply of hot water when required. A small ledge was available to keep washbags, etc. to hand.
Overall our stay was very good value in clean, comfortable and modern accommodation. The helpful staff even supplied extra tea, coffee and milk supplies when asked.
The adjacent Harvester was obviously popular and well attended in the evening meal time and we got what we paid for. The staff were obviously overworked on that occasion but we also enjoyed a good, cheaply priced, cooked breakfast there the following morning when the service was excellent.

“Good value, handy location, decent Travelodge.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

A better than average Travelodge in my experience, Helpful staff. Decent size, clean and adequate quality of rooms. Bathroom facilities all worked fine. Fairly quiet for sleeping. Beds OK, though not brilliant. Near to rail stations for easy access to Portsmouth city centre and harbour attractions. Reasonable driving distance too (note often very heavy traffic into and out of city). Adjacent Harvester pub for a convenient, reasonable value meal, if needed. A few minutes drive to Havant town centre with more eating options.

“Great value friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2011

Friendly staff, clean room and everything provided worked e.g. TV, shower etc. Fresh towels, spotless bathroom. I liked the fact checkout was midday giving a relaxed pace to the day if you wanted it. This is far from luxury accomm but for a no frills stay I thought it was fantastic value for what we paid. NB, my overall rating reflects value for money, individual ratings below are relative to all hotels I have stayed in regardless of price.
