“Phil and Derek Southport”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 October 2011

Just returned from a two night break walking the Winchcombe Way and stayed at the Oaklands.
Tom and Pat were the perfect hosts and nothing was too much trouble, even getting Pat out of bed on our early arrival!.
What was nice was there was always a full supply of coffee and milks in the room so we didn't need to ask for more.
The breakfast was to die for as you probably would if you stayed there a week. My buddy reduced his eggs from two to one on the second day because there was too much on his plate.
I can recommend this B & B to anyone.
To eat at night we went to the Plaisterers and the Corner Cupboard both in Winchcome. Both were not cheap but well cooked. The Corners drinks were expensive and the mushy peas with the fish came in a thimble sized container. Considering mushy peas are 45p a tin I would have expected much more for my £9 but the waitress brough us larger portions on request. Due to the drink prices we went for a couple of pints in a pub in Greet Road later.
I have only put average for value because the cost was £45 each per night which I felt was a little more than I would expect to pay however perhaps these are Cotswold prices !

Room Tip: Some single and ajoining doubles which would be great for a family and child

“Highly recommended”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2010

I highly recommend Oaklands Bed and Breakfast. The room that we had was very cute. The room we had was overlooking the street. It really feels like home. Very quiet area and we really slept very well after the late night. Thank you to Pat and her husband for the great hospitality. And also for sending my scarf that I left in the room. We appreciate all the advise and the great stories. We truly enjoyed our stay. We will definitely come back!!! - V&D

“A wonderful place to stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2007

Our family of four stayed at Oaklands for two nights and had a wonderful time. The owners are so warm and hospitable. You are welcome to check your email on their computer and the breakfasts are delicious. They even have a very safe play area for young kids. We were thrilled to actually have TWO rooms that shared one bathroom separating them. At the end of long days of hiking and exploring the town, our kids enjoyed their separate room with bunk-beds and its own TV/DVD player. The rooms were spotless and it was very quiet, we slept great. This was the most spacious set-up we had thoughout our 12 days in the Costwolds and we were sorry to leave for the next place where we'd all be in one small room again. Oaklands is wonderful. I highly recommend it!
