“wonderful hospitality in a family home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

we arrived on a wet and misty afternoon to a lovely log fire in a beautiful sitting room where Susie (the owner) served a delightful afternoon tea of scones and homemade cake. The room (we had the Yellow room) was a delight.Spacious yet cosy, clean and very comfortable with a lovely large bed,TV ,CD Player and tea and coffee making facilities, and plenty of books and magazines. The bathroom has bath and shower and was spotlessly clean with lots of little extras. The views from the room are stunning.
For breakfast Susie gives you a huge choice-plenty of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, wonderful Cotswold bread as well as a large choice of cooked from porridge to full english.
This is an ideal spot for touring, sightseeing and shopping. Cheltenham is only 15 mins drive away and has great shops, well worth visiting. Susie kindly loaned us a local map and showed us a route for a days car tour, taking us through Stanway, Broadway, Chipping Camden and Burton on the Water-to name a few. I would imagine it would also be an ideal place to walk from-with so much wonderful walking country on the doorstep.
This is only bed and breakfast but there are numerous places to eat in the evening locally, and Susie was very helpful in recommending eateries.
This lovely place really is very good value.
Look out for all Susies fabulous sculptures through the house. She is one talented lady!

“Great place with warm welcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 November 2011

Stayed here for 2 nights 15 - 17 November 2011. Got a very warm welcome on arrival and shown to the yellow room. After unpacking we were invited to the sitting room for afternoon tea. This was a cream tea Devon style with scones, jam and cream in front of a log fire. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable with a shower and roll top bath. My wife and I are not big breakfast eaters but the menu was extensive for those who are. Again, a lovely setting. The views from the room were somewhat restricted by the valley mist but when this cleared, they were splendid. I have already recommended this B&B to friends to stay when it reopens in the spring. Beautiful building, excellent views, comfortable rooms and a very warm welcome - what more can you want?

Room Tip: Yellow room biggest but all are worth booking.

“Wonderful stay at Westward”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

My four night stay at Westward was superb from the moment I walked in the front door. My room was gorgeous with stunning views over the countryside and Sudeley Castle. Susie and her staff were great from offering suggestions of places to visit, ringing the local pub to book a table for dinner to cooking superb breakfasts and afternoon teas. I felt very much as if I were visiting friends rather than complete strangers and would recommend Westward to anyone wanting a base to explore the Cotswolds.

“Great accommodations!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2011

We stayed 3 nts in a large, comfortable room with gorgeous views of the countryside. We were welcomed by tea and scones upon our arrival and were served ample generous breakfasts daily. Sudeley Castle is nearby and well worth a visit. Cotswolds towns of Winchcombe, Broadway, Stowe-on-the Wold, Burford, etc are a short drive away. We would not hesitate to return and plan to do so! This will be a "must" stop on our future trips to the UK.

Room Tip: We stayed in the "Yellow Bedroom" and highly recommend it.

“Top marks!”

Stayed here for a couple of nights. Welcomed with afternoon tea which was so delicious spoiled appetite for evening meal. Apparently on offer each day not just on arrival but had to decline on second day in order to enjoy dinner. Lovely room, beautiful views. Nothing too much trouble for hosts who are incredibly welcoming, hospitable and friendly. Enjoyed the most delicious kedgeree at breakfast (not that have enjoyed that dish so often) but it was just perfect as was the traditional breakfast we enjoyed the following day. I can recommend this place to everyone as imagine they welcome singles, couples and families in the same way. The place has a lovely ambience. The hosts are interested and involved without being intrusive and make every effort possible to ensure your stay is top notch.
