“Charming Cotswold hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

We had an overnight stay for my husband's birthday and had an excellent time in this characterful hotel. The rooms are small but typical of an old building in the Cotswolds, well furnished and comfortable. The gardens are lovely and I would like to go back in the summer to take afternoon tea on the lawn. The library and bar were cosy and comfortable and the staff very attentive. We had a champagne afternoon tea and cocktails in the bar, the cocktails in particular were excellent and well presented. Dinner was in the Brasserie, delicious and good value for money.

“Small but perfectly formed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

We stayed at this lovely hotel in this pretty Cotswolds village for a birthday party and it had all the charm you would expect from a country house hotel. Log fires, beautiful gardens, delightful staff but a tiny double room. Although the room was beautifully decorated we had to squeeze around the double bed sideways (room 3) to get into the bathroom which was thankfully large enough to swing a cat. We were only staying for the night so the space limitations and view over the roof of the main building was not particulalry upsetting but to stay for longer would not have been relaxing. We paid a reduced rate of £145 per night for the two of us and we also took the dog for an additional £10. The location of the room was also noisy as it was right next to the main stairs and the fire door.
The evening was great fun and the food, drink and service were all good.
We would definitely stay again but insist on an upgrade if offered this or a similar room again.

Room Tip: Room 3 - tiny and should be offered to single travellers for the reduced rate. No view at all. Nois...

“A real gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

We enjoyed a fantastic stay here, the room was perfect, the staff friendly and attentive and our evening meal in the hotel restaurant was superb, as was breakfast the following day. One slight negative was overnight noise with the floorboards above our room a bit noisy (but it is an old hotel), overall highly recommended.

“Cosy hotel with nice atmosphere”

Very attractive hotel sitting on the main street in Moreton, parking spaces outside for a few cars, also in the main square across the road. We booked a deal on the internet £90 B & B for both of us. Our room was up 2 flights of stairs and small but functional. Bar and library were warm and cosy, nice atmosphere. We were informed there was a deal in the restaurant - 2 courses + small glass wine for £17.50 pp. The main course portions were child size - my salmon was very small with 2 new potatatoes in sauce. My husbands chicken and mashed potatoes was also small. Both accompanied by cabbage around the size of a 50p coin. We both left the restaurant feeling hungry, no side dish of vegetables to accompany our meal. Service a bit slow in restaurant considering there was hardly anyone in there. Hotel good value for money but I would recommend you find somewhere else to dine.

“Fabulous hotel”

My boyfriend and I have stayed here twice over the last few months. Before this I came with some friends and came with my mum numerous times as a teenager. I love the Manor House hotel - it's one of my favourite places and would definitely consider it as a wedding location!
The staff are always lovely (with the exception of one guy who is a bit prickly but honestly, nothing major!) and and the rooms are very pleasant. The bathrooms are modern and the Molten Brown they provide is a nice touch.
The food at the Mulberry restaurant is exquisite and the cocktails are great too.
This really is the perfect retreat for a romantic weekend away or a chilled weekend with friends.
I would advise going to Blenheim Palace if you want something to do during the day.
The only negative is that the rooms can be a bit stuffy but I am sure they would provide a fan if I asked - they are always very accommodating. Also, I wish they did a loyalty card because I love it there and wish I could go more - but it is a bit on the pricey side - especially at weekends!
