“You get what you pay for”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 October 2011

I stayed here for one night in October and on arrival was greeted by a very flustered receptionist who went into great detail about how the hotel was understaffed and overbooked. Once we finally got the key the room was ok but very tired and shabby. The room didn't look like it had been cleaned properly and there were what looked like vomit stains all over the carpet. Also the remote was missing for the TV and I had to ask for towels and extra pillows. That being said the room was quiet and dark and the bed was ok so I had a good nights sleep.

“No reason not to stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 September 2011

Typical Travelodge 4C,s( cheap, convienent, clean and comfortable).Little Chef on site,Tesco and the famous Greasy Joes just down the road for breakfast,5 mins drive to town centre where there is a good selection of restaurants, helpful and welcoming staff would stay again if in the area especially if I can book in advance and get one of there cheap saver deals(paid £25 pound for a family room)

Room Tip: book a family room even if there is only 2 of you they cost the same but you get a sofa in the room...

“Good night's sleep, good value but room looking very tired”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2011

Stayed here for 1 night after booking online. On arrival the staff were very helpful and check in was very straight forward.
I had a room at the rear of the hotel which was very quiet. The only criticism is that the room was looking very tired ..... the sofa was threadbare in places, mastic sealant around the window peeling away, bathroom vinyl flooring lifting and mould growing on the sealant around the bath.
Unfortunately on the night of my stay the lighting in the car park wasn't working which made it a very dark place.
Not the smartest Travelodge that I have stayed in but these things didn't prevent a good night's sleep from being had.

“Cheap, clean and convienient. Typical travelodge.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 June 2011 via mobile

Stayed in a busy weekend, but room for 3 was fine. The room and bathroom were clean, and the only criticism is the distance to Cirencester when walking, but it is do-able and not too far.

“No room at the inn (despite having booked / paid online)”

Travelodge's policy of over-selling their rooms means that you might not get a room in the hotel that they have charged you for. I rocked up at the Cirencester Travelodge at 1am after attending a friend's party, and discovered that there was in fact no room waiting for me. I had of course paid for the room, and had paid the insurance fee. I was encouraged to take a 30 minute drive to Swindon; a place that I didn't want to be .... I just wanted to go to sleep.
Quite why it is acceptable practice to over-sell a hotel when you have, in many cases, taken payment up front is beyond me. I refused to travel to Swindon and i was put up in 'Room 5' where there the carpet is soppy wet (I imagine it still is today), and there is a lingering smell of rotting compost.
I emailed the Customer Services dept on my return home. That was 5 days ago, and I haven't heard a thing ......
Travelodge should be a very simple, good, cost effective concept. How they can screw up the concept so badly is beyond me, and their lack of reaction to my complaint would suggest a stunning disinterest in customer service.
