“A January bargain !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

people found this review helpful

Was lucky to find a reduced double room rate of £50 for a Saturday night in January which is an absolute bargain as not much more than the Travelodge but in the middle of town and way way better in terms of quality of room, service etc. Lovely old building which is being carefully refurb'd - bedrooms already completed and was very well appointed. Friendly service throughout our stay. Did not try any food as ate elsewhere in Ciren but can recommend rest of facilities without reservation if looking for accommodation in this beautiful market town.

Room Tip: All rooms have now been refurb'd so cannot go wrong

Thank you very much for you comments, we are really pleased with the refurbished bedrooms, and are looking forward to the completion of the bar, lounge and restaurant work that is currently underway.

Our ‘January Sale’ has been really popular – keep an eye on our website for our offers as we move through the year.

I really hope we can welcome you back to the hotel sometime soon.

Best regards

“Newly renovated, helpful staff, great location”

I'd recommend the Fleece. All the rooms were renovated in 2011 to a good standard. Traditional with a modern twist. Our room fronted onto the main street and the window blinds didn't block out the light, so if you are sensitive to light I'd recommend taking an airline-style eye mask or requesting a room that doesn't face the street. The staff are friendly, helpful and caring. Rates are reasonable. Cirencester is a pleasant little town with some interesting shops.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms fronting the main street if street lights keep you awake

I was really pleased to hear you enjoyed your recent stay ere at The Fleece at Cirencester. The newly refurbished bedrooms are fabulous, as you said, classic, and represent the Roman history of Cirencester, with a modern twist. I was glad the team showed you the true hospitality I know they offer every day.

I hope we can welcome you back to the hotel sometime soon, so you can enjoy another stay here, and also the joys of Cirencester and the surrounding areas.

Best regards

Stayed at this hotel to see in the new year and walk the Cotswold Hills.Very friendly and helpful staff.Went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible.Perfectly situated in the middle of this beautiful town with lots of history in itself. The well decorated room was great with large bed and lovely bathroom with views of the towns church and market place out of the window.Parking at the rear of the hotel allows off street parking in a secure place.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a street view.

“Great Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

Stop for a meal over the New Year and the food was wonderful. I had a beautifully cooked piece of fish and my mother steak pie - fantastic. The staff really friendly and I would highly recommending dining here. I really look forward to my return in the summer when I definitely will be having my evening meal there. Thank you
Sally

Many thanks for your kind words, I was really pleased to hear you enjoyed your meal with us. The Steak Pie, made with our own Thwaites Ales is a classic here, and is hugely popular!

I look forward to welcome you back in the Summer, when you will also be able to enjoy the results of our ground floor bar, restaurant and lounge refurbishment!

“Unexpected! but very impressed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

Me and my husband booked this hotel by Superbreak.com, We checked in at 2 pm. NO booking for us! The receptionist did her job very well, she told us no booking from travel agent (Super break mistake) but they had rooms available for us after that we went to the room BUT not double room same as we booked the room is twin again mistake. My husband went down for this and he came back very quickly with the key for a new room and we have been upgraded. The new room was very nice, bigger, charming, new but the double bed was made from single beds and just put together!! My husband said he didn't want to go down and change the room agian, so we kept the room (we were only staying 2 nights) But we were very happy with the room I just wondered why theycouldn't have a double matress.

Just would like to say thank you to the reception who was working in those days, you did your job so well, the restaurent team worked excellently (I am a fussy about food but they made me very happy)

Thank you for your comments and feedback, and my apologies about the ‘unexpected’ arrival here at The Fleece at Cirencester. Having spoken with Superbreaks, I am pleased to say we have now resolved the issues which we causing issues with reservations reaching us here at the hotel.
We have a number of beds in the hotel that can be either a twin or a double, which allows us the flexibility for all our guests needs, I wish you had mentioned something to us, as it is a very simple process to do, and we could have given you a double bed to enjoy.

I was pleased to hear the team showed you the true hospitality we offer every day, and hope we can welcome you back to the hotel sometime soon.

Best regards
