Travelled down to cheltenham on new years day, the missus rang Shelley new years eve to ask if we could arrive at Hilden House early for a breakfast,certainly was the reply look forward to seeing you in the morning,Shelley said.We arrived at 9.30 were greeted with a warm friendly welcome and excellent breakfast.As our room hadn't been vacated Shelley offered us room 2 to freshen up and change in.15 minute walk to races, stayed in room 11 in the coach house,lovely spacious room,with modern furnishings radio alarm clock,tv tea and coffee,wi-fi,large bathroom with shower and full size bath lovely.After good nights sleep breakfast superb again,Shelley gave us a permit so we were able to leave car at hotel, and stroll into town just 5 minutes away.Super location, excellent hosts,fantastic breakfast,what more could you ask for.Our first visit to Cheltenham,definetely not our last,and without a doubt Hilden House will be at the top of our list for our future visits to Cheltenham.

We totally enjoyed our stay at Hilden House. Shelley and Aiden were genial hosts and very helpful about what to do and how to get there, the breakfast was excellent, the room comfortable, and we could walk to town attractions and restaurants. We also found Cheltenham to be a good base for travelling by bus to surrounding points of interest like Gloucester Cathedral, Tewkesbury Abbey, and the Cotswolds where we could walk from village to village (we did Stow-on-the-Wold to Bourton-on-the-Water via Lower Slaughter).

Spent 3 nights at Hilden House for Cheltenham's Open Festival and cannot recommend this little gem highly enough. From the minute we arrived, we were met by warm, friendly hosts Shelley & Aiden, for which nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are simply stunning, with everything you could want in terms of comfort (the pillows are to die for!) and the breakfasts literally set you up for the whole day. A gentle 10 minute stroll to the Racecourse made racedays so easy and similarly 5 minutes stroll into Cheltenham town centre for all amenieties. Shelley & Aiden gave us tips on local eateries, which also surpassed our expectations. Lovely relaxing stay and already booked up to go back in April 2012 :)

Just returned from 2 days racing at Cheltenham and can't praise Hilden House and, more particularly, Aiden and Shelley who run the place. Their welcome, lovely clean rooms and super breakfasts are as good as they come. Located on a main road but set back and quiet at night it is ideally located for visiting the town, the races or, I'm sure, for touring the Cotswolds. Have re-booked for the racing Festival in March already for myself and my friend from Malta who comes racing here regularly.
