This hotel is superb! We stayed over a weekend and had a dinner, bed and breakfast package which was excellent value. We received a very warm welcome from Stuart who carried our heavy suitcase up the stairs to our room Both our room, and that of our friends', were decorated to a high standard, scrupulously clean and we had double aspect windows with views over the grounds. The bed was very comfortable and the quality bed linens were immaculate. The bathroom was spotless and fitted to a high standard, and the towels were soft and fluffy. We took pre-dinner drinks in the conservatory where we placed our dinner order, and then were shown to our table when the starters were ready to be served. The menu had a good range of dishes which were freshly cooked, and locally sourced where possible. Breakfast was excellent; a selection of fresh fruit, yogurts and cereals for self-service, and hot food cooked to order. A great way to start a busy day of sight-seeing.
Altogether this was a wonderful hotel and the owners, Stuart and Lin, do all they can to make the stay special. We will definitely be returning there.

Stayed here in August for 4 nights. Room was clean and comfortable, well stocked with drinks, biscuits and mints each day. The owners were friendly but unobtrusive. the location is excellent being just outside the town with plenty of parking and easy access/exit. The breakfasts were very good quality, we tried the traditional and the scrambled egg/smoked salmon. All in all a nice place to stay.

This is an excellent, well run and friendly small hotel on the outskirts of Cheltenham. Lovely grounds, well appointed rooms, well decorated. The menu has dishes for all and the breakfast is very good.

The team at Charlton Kings are very friendly and helpful. The hotel provides a good basis for sightseeing in the cotswolds

I have just returned from a one night stay in this hotel with myself and six friends for my hen do - a phrase to strike dread into any hotelier, I'm sure. We are mostly in our mid to late thirties, and wanted somewhere quiet. The rooms are of amazing quality, and the evening meal last night, and the breakfast this morning were first class. The male owner can come across as a bit brusque but I think that was the hen party worry.....I'd definitely stay here again, but seeing as I live in the area I will have to invent an excuse.
