“We will be back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Book here - you will not be disappointed. My husband and I booked a quiet weekend away last weekend in January. It was my first time to the Cotswold's and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. From the minute we walked in the door, the staff greeted us with a warm welcome. We booked a standard room but were upgraded to a grand room because we also booked a couples massage, and only the larger room could accomodate us. The room was about 300 square feet - it was VERY spacious. The bathroom needed a bit of a facelift, but this room has not yet undergone the refurbishments which the hotel is implementing (although there was no refurbishment taking place during our stay). The only thing I would tell the hotel to change is the matresses. Perhaps this has been done in the new rooms, but the matress was a bit flimsy and needed more support.

The grounds are beautiful and there are walks through the countryside which you can do in about 40 minutes. For dinner we dined in the main dining room (which I reccommend highly) You will get to eat breakfast in the brasserie in the morning, so this way you can experience both restaurants. The food was top notch, as was the dinner service. Great selection of wines and food at reasonabel prices. The sitting room has a large fireplace, where you can sit on comfy couches and have Afternoon Tea or pre-dinner cocktails. During out trip we also visited Barnsley House as this was also recommended to us, and we had coffee in the sitting area. The staff at Bibury court were much more personable and friendly and although Bibury does not have its own spa, I would stay here again over any other place nearby. Niel is fantastic and very helpful, as was our waiter at dinner. I would highly recommend this place!!

Room Tip: I would reccommend staying in a refurbished room, however the others are very good as well, just a b...

“Perfect stay away!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

We had visited Bibury once before but had never stayed. The grounds of Bibury are so picturesque and to follow that up with the most greeting staff as soon as you walk in. We were made to feel very welcome. We dined also and cant express how great the food is, with a selection menus and great wines to match.

Highly recommended

“Excellent service, atmosphere & dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

We stayed for a Saturday night in January.
ROOM: We booked a Grand Double, excellent if you or your partner is big and tall like mine as the bed is fantastically big and comfy. Nice large bath and shower. Small'ish TV (but hey did you book the room to watch TV??!). Decor a little tired, but thats the only negative.

SERVICE: Top notch! Smiles all round. The team really seem pleased to work there and were brilliant.

DINNER: Choose the 'Taster menu'. Seven courses, all small but utterly delightful and fun as we were trying things we would not usually order. The food, service and wine (malbec £22) were faultless.

BREAKFAST: Served 7am -10am. Sadly dissapointing. The bacon was very fatty and eggs watery. I'd recomend sticking to the continental. Hot choc is good.

LOCATION: Beautiful, we took a stroll around the grounds and saw the river. Would make a lovely place for a wedding

Room Tip: Choose a Grand double for a big bed.

“Really enjoyable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

We stayed at Bibury Court for a weekend mid December as our grand-daughter married in Bibury church. As one arrives via the long drive one is faced with this imposing Jacobean mansion. Reception was efficient, friendly and polite. There had been a slight mix up on the booking as I had requested a room with fewer steps due to an arthritic knee. On telephoning a couple of days before our stay to confirm reservation I was informed that we had been allocated a top floor room. The reservations manager admitted her mistake (not reading the request)and did her utmost to right the situation and actually contacted other guests to change rooms - successfully - and offered us a discount! The absence of a lift in this property is a definite negative.
The room was large , very clean with a large bathroom, obviously recently refurbished with bath and a walk-in shower. The towels were simply superb - so thick and fluffy. The bed was very comfortable with unbelieveably soft pillows. The room was so well lit so no problem reading in bed.
The first morning breakfast was served in a small room - service and food were very good with a large choice of cooked dishes. As the hotel was full the next night breakfast was served in the brasserie (conservatory). Due to the increase in guests service was a little slower but good - coffee very good and as much as you wanted.
We did not dine in the restaurant as the prices were way beyond what we would pay and the wine prices are exorbitant.
Beautiful parklike grounds which we were not able to explore due to adverse weather - everywhere was like a skating rink, but there is a small blue door in the exterior wall that leads straight into the churchyard - perfect for our occasion.

“Beautiful hotel - perfect break”

We stayed at Bibury for two nights at the end of December as a last-minute, pre-Christmas break. I'm so glad we booked here. The outside of the hotel is beautiful and the surrounding area is 'Cotswold village, postcard perfect'. We stayed in one of Bibury's suites, which was immaculate and beautifully decorated, with a huge, stunning en-suite bathroom/ wetroom. A bottle of chilled champagne was waiting in our room when we arrived, and we sampled the seven course taster menu, which was excellent. Overall, the hotel is luxurious but relaxed and unpretentious. We have to stay in hotels all over the world with our jobs, and get tired of the usual faceless, corporate places, so Bibury was a refreshing change. It is small enough to offer a personal, friendly service, while still being professional and slick. The staff couldn't have been more helpful - the man who showed us to our room on the first day was especially chipper! The drawing room and reception rooms are lovely and cosy, with crackling log fires and big, comfy couches. It was too wet and cold to explore the grounds properly, but no doubt the outdoor space is lovely in the summer months. We will definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms at Bibury have not been refurbished, so i don't know what these are like. Cert...
