Book here - you will not be disappointed. My husband and I booked a quiet weekend away last weekend in January. It was my first time to the Cotswold's and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. From the minute we walked in the door, the staff greeted us with a warm welcome. We booked a standard room but were upgraded to a grand room because we also booked a couples massage, and only the larger room could accomodate us. The room was about 300 square feet - it was VERY spacious. The bathroom needed a bit of a facelift, but this room has not yet undergone the refurbishments which the hotel is implementing (although there was no refurbishment taking place during our stay). The only thing I would tell the hotel to change is the matresses. Perhaps this has been done in the new rooms, but the matress was a bit flimsy and needed more support.
The grounds are beautiful and there are walks through the countryside which you can do in about 40 minutes. For dinner we dined in the main dining room (which I reccommend highly) You will get to eat breakfast in the brasserie in the morning, so this way you can experience both restaurants. The food was top notch, as was the dinner service. Great selection of wines and food at reasonabel prices. The sitting room has a large fireplace, where you can sit on comfy couches and have Afternoon Tea or pre-dinner cocktails. During out trip we also visited Barnsley House as this was also recommended to us, and we had coffee in the sitting area. The staff at Bibury court were much more personable and friendly and although Bibury does not have its own spa, I would stay here again over any other place nearby. Niel is fantastic and very helpful, as was our waiter at dinner. I would highly recommend this place!!
