Have just returned from a 2 night stay at 'Oaklands' just outside Rye. We travelled with 2 sets of friends so took over the whole B&B. We were welcomed with a smile by the lovely Diane and Tony who looked after u very well during our stay. The rooms were all of a very high standard and the breakfasts were superb. There was a good choice and the hot cooked breakfast with home made bread and jam or marmalade went down very well. There were juices, tea, coffee, in fact all that you would want. Nothing seemed too much trouble. We ate at a very good pub just along the road, The Plough. The food was fresh, tasty and reasonable. You will need to drive as there is no footpath along that stretch of road. It was a few minutes by car. There are various eateries in Rye but, once again, it would probably be best to drive as it would take about 25 minutes to walk. Fine if, like us, the weather is good. Really cannot fault this lovely place or our hosts. would most definitely recommend it if you are in the area.
