“Very good place in Rye”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Two nights in the Chocolate Room. A very warm welcome with a complimentary gin& tonic, the room was surprisingly large with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was large and well equipped. Only one minor quibble;the extra heavy towels which smelt slightly musty. There are several comments on here already about them.

Breakfast was exceptionally good with a wide choice of good quality options. It was nice to pop in during the day to their coffee shop and try their very good cakes and drinks.

Parking is a problem as its not available outside in the High Street. The Ropewalk shopping area is the best option, only £1.50 for 24 hours.

Overall a highly recommended place to stay.

“WONDERFUL B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

Hayden's is a wonderful B&B and we recommend it without hesitation.

We stayed in the Chocolate room (more of a suite really, it's huge) which was lovely: warm, stylish, comfortable. Good snacks provided (Green & Blacks!), great shower (powerful and spacious).

The staff were all charming, the breakfast offered the best selection I've ever seen.

Hayden's is perfectly located on the High Street.

Rye itself is a lovely place for a weekend, the staff in the tourist info can give suggestions for local walks (there's a nice one along the canal to Winchelsea which is worth a visit).

Try Marino's on the High Street for truly great fish and chips and Ambrette for wonderful, well priced anglo-indian food in a stylish restaurant.

Room Tip: The Chocolate room is lovely

“Wonderful experience - outstanding B & B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2011

Beautifully appointed bed and breakfast. We stayed in the Silver Room on a crisp wintery weekend. The room was warm and luxurious. The bed was enormous and comfortable. The bathroom was lovely with colour changing mood lights and toiletries. The choice of teas and coffees in the room was full ranging and we even had our own cafetiere and fresh coffee to use, plus a small fridge with a jug of milk. We had bath robes, a flat screen tv and an i-pod dock as well! The room was large and had a fantastic view out over Romney Marsh. Breakfast was really lovely, served in the coffee shop and the choice was fantastic from locally sourced full English to poached eggs on bagels and cheddar poached eggs to local fruit juices. Rye is a beautiful town, which in the run up to Christmas felt really festive, with many old inns and pubs to visit and sit by roaring log fires. Whilst no where in Rye seems to be particularly cheap to stay in, for the quality offered here and the warmth of the welcome it was worth every penny. We will certainly be returning maybe as soon as January to beat the post Christmas blues!

Room Tip: The Silver Room has a view across the marshes and fantastic original beams across the ceiling

“Outstanding room, location and staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

My partner surprised me by taking me to Rye for a weekend away. We arrived on the Friday evening and were offered a cake and complimentary drink upon arrival. We were staying in the Silver room which was next door to the B and B. The room was spacious, with good quality toiletries, tea and coffee etc. There was a small bar of organic chocolate which was a nice touch as well as fresh milk. The amount of hotels I've stayed in and had to make do with UHT I've lost count of.
Breakfast was served between 830 and 1200. They open to the public from 10 so I would advise getting down before hand. Wide range of fruit and cereals as well as a hot food menu. The traditional breakfast was lovely, as well as the bagel breakfast. Nothing to fault with daily papers awaiting your perusal!
The bed was really comfortable and Hayden's is situated in an ideal place on the high road. 10 minutes maximum walk from the station.
Many thanks to the owners for making us feel welcome. We will definitely be visiting Rye again, hopefully very soon!

Room Tip: I didn't book this but the room we had, had lovely views of the marshes.
