My Mum and I stayed for 2 nights - 27th-28th November...we called and spoke to Liz to advise her that we were on our way from the station only to be offered to be collected by Liz in her car! We chose to walk as it is only a short 10 minute walk so we thought...don't Google a walking route ask Liz or Alfredo for directions! Once we had walked the WRONG way to Summerfields House, we were very warmly welcomed by Alfredo, who immediately asked if we needed any help with our bags and shown to our room, Alfredo showed us around the room and gave us some instructions on the facilities within the room. We filled out our registration form and breakfast options and settled in. What a little delight our room was (Peonies), both Mum and I were very impressed with the cleanliness and lay out of the room. The bathroom is a knockout treat with the 35 jet jacuzzi bath! After taking advantage of the tea and coffee facilities, fresh milk and water in the mini fridge too! We decided to walk the RIGHT way into Hastings after Alfredo gave us a map with personal recommendations of the good restaurants hand-written on the map...we found an Italian on the edge of the old town which was lovely and well priced!
Walking off dinner back to the guest house, we settled in for the night, a jacuzzi bath later, we slipped into bed!
Breakfast the following morning - was ready when requested, hot and freshly cooked was delicious, choice of cereal, juice and preserves too....FAB!
Spent the day in Hastings enjoying the range of shops, including a big Debenhams which Mum was impressed with, visited the Fishermans Museum (free of charge but donations welcomed) and travelled on the East Hill Lift - this is a must for the best views of Hastings at Sunset - this runs until 4.00....
Dinner was at Whites - Fish Restaurant which was very busy and we were lucky to get a table without booking - so do BOOK! This was FAB - to taste the fish of Hastings so fresh and very reasonable price wise too! Do look for the specials....
Back to the guesthouse to be greeted by Liz and Alfredo who asked about our day!
Another jacuzzi bath later and then bed after a busy day walking around Hastings!
Breakfast yet again was a delight and I would make a personal recommendation of the eggs benedict!
Check out by 10.00 and walked to the station with regret that we hadn't booked to stay longer!
A fabulous stay, was made to feel very welcome left feeling very relaxed and well cared for!
Finally, why oh why would you stay in the TRAVELODGE next door, with Summerfields House on the door step!
Thank you to Liz and Alfredo for making our Hastings stay so lovely!
I am booking to stay again in the New Year and bringing Hubby this time!
Room Tip: Peonies - balcony with a sea also take advantage of the jacuzzi bath!
