“We have been to The Senlac Guest House quite a few times now. And each visit has been as pleasant as the last.”

We had a room consisting of 1 double bed and 1 single bed which was just right for my Wife, Son and myself. The room was very clean and tidy with a good supply of Tea & Coffee and Aero Drinking Chocolate and a packet of biscuits.( Which my Son absolutely loved). The guest house is within easy reach of the Seafront and Old Town and a very Lively Town Centre with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants catering to everybody's needs. Steve and Vicky, who own the Guest house. Are a lovely couple who will go out of their way to ensure your stay is a memorable one. And therefore we would recommend them everytime.

“Don't believe what they tell you about Parking nearby!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

Stayed at the Guest house for a weekend, room was nice, didn't order breakfast as we wanted to make the most of the town. The owners gave us a parking permit on arrival, saying that it would run out in the morning, so all we needed to do was to go to a nearby car park at 9am (which we had to pay for). They said we could park in front of the guest house on Sunday and gave us another token, but we were given a parking ticket...
We strongly believe it was not the 1st time this had happened to customers as the landlady wrote a letter on our behalf, blatantly lying about the reason why we parked there...
This experience left us with a very bitter after taste, which is the reason why we would NOT recommend the Guest house!!!!

Firstly thank you for the kind comment that you thought our rooms were nice but sorry to read that your experience has left a bitter after taste due to the parking regulations. The Senlac is located in the centre of town and like any other town centre it is difficult to park without paying for parking. Out off courtesy we PAY for overnight parking vouchers for a car park in the next road and give them to our guests COMPLIMENTRY so guests have no hassles with parking. On arrival all guests are given directions to the car park in the next road.

In the last year I do not recall any of our guests informing us that they had been given a ticket during their stay so am quite confused about this review. However I do recall one guest getting a ticket a few years ago because they had parked in the Permit Holders Only section of the road (which is free parking between 8pm – 9am) and then not moving their car at 9.00am in the morning to the car park as instructed. Out of kindness I did offer to help the guest by writing to the council to explain that the guest was not from this area, therefore had not understood the parking restrictions even though they had been explained.

It’s a shame that this guest has now decided to write a poor rated review focusing on the experience of the parking ticket rather than our accommodation which I thought was the main reason for Trip Advisor.

“I very much enjoyed my stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 July 2011

I stayed in the "46" B&B part of the establishment. The welcome on arrival was friendly and efficient. My room was spotless, highly chic and comfortable and faced out to a pretty, terraced garden with outside seating. Breakfast was charged separately so one could opt in or out - something I appreciated. I took four breakfasts during my 7 day stay - all excellent. There's a good selection of fruit and cereals and the hot food is cooked to order. Complimentary overnight car parking is, literally, just round the corner in a secure building but do remember to display the relevant day's card - I just avoided a penalty when I temporarily forgot. "46" is close to both the town centre and the beach but Cambridge Gardens is remarkably quiet at night. A good place to stay.

“How welcome we were made”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 June 2011

We stayed at the Senlac Guest house for the week end of 17/6/11 - 19/6/11
We found the property to be of very good taste, the decor of the rooms were excellent. We were made very welcome by the staff. And we would definately recommend this guest house if you are thinking of staying in Hastings.

“"Fantastic accommodation, would highly recommend"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 June 2011

I stayed at number 46 with my husband, six year old son and three week old daughter after attending a wedding, on the saturday. We were extremley impressed, the room was beautifully decorated....very modern! and very well equipped, we could'nt have asked for better accomodation, it was very clean and we had a wonderful nights sleep in the comfy beds!
although we did'nt get to meet Vicky or Steve as they were away, they were lovely to deal with over the phone and their staff were very pleasant and friendly
We would highly recommend this guest house to everyone and will be staying again in the future given the chance!!
Extremely good value for money!!!!!
