Stayed for one night in a twin room. Stayed in room 206 which was a good size and well decorated. Had a sea view room which was lovely but the windows are ill fitting so it was quite noisy - I could even hear the tide ebbing and flowing. The bathroom, as others have commented, was very tired and needed updating. The bath was stained - but was clean - and there was a mis-mash of styles of tiles. However, the shower was powerful and water hot and towels clean.
The upstairs corridors also need updating. Paintwork is grubby and carpet almost threadbare in places. Ground floor decor is in very good order though.
Gentleman on reception was friendly and was the same person that served at breakfast. Breakfast is excellent value. Wide selection of cold choices, plenty of tea and coffee and a good selection of hot choices for a cooked breakfast. Breakfast was served in the Indian restaurant. It was a pleasant environment to eat in, with a sea view.
Overall, for the price paid, it is very good value for money and I would stay here again if visiting Hastings again.
The hotel is on the sea front in a nice location. Just a couple of minutes walk to the theatre and the shopping precinct. Very good shopping centre and plenty of places to eat. We ate in the Mexican restaurant in the precinct (next to Bentons) and it was very good.
