“A warm and welcoming place to stay...”

..even during the coldest weekend of the year! From the warm welcome when we arrived with a fresh pot of tea and homemade cake (amazing banana, walnut and date cake!), to the fresh flowers and the anniversary card in our room...everything about our stay was lovely. Tracey-Anne was very welcoming and helpful. She sent us a list of recommended restaurants before our stay and we had a lovely dinner at a local fish restaurant. The beds were extremely comfortable, the rooms were clean and nicely decorated and there was a big variety of options for breakfast including homemade granola and a tasty english breakfast! The only thing I would say...is that there weren't enough biscotti biscuits in the room..they were so tasty we needed more! Thank you for a lovely stay, I would not hestitate in recommending Black Rock House to anyone looking for a romantic weekend away.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Garden Room which was extremely comfortable and not over looked. we didn't see...

“This hotel is nothing short of .... WOW !!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Tracey-ann & Lesley have the most 'perfect' hotel in Hastings -
I was entertained by Lesley on arrival with a glass of red wine, a roaring fire and relaxed conversation..... and this was just the start !!!
Their brilliance extended as far as the decor, the bed sheets, curtains, pillows, breakfast and even biscotti in my room (v nice).
I will NOT be staying anywhere else if I ever go to Hastings again... lovely warm people and a truly relaxing experience. Thank you ladies. Keith

“Amazing experience over our wedding weekend”

I booked all the rooms of this hotel over the weekend of the 22nd October 2011 as I was getting married and needed somewhere for myself and my family to stay. Everything about the hotel was perfect. We previously organised a special breakfast for the morning of the wedding withTracey-Ann and Lesley, and it was beautiful - two courses helped along with buzz fizz. The rooms were gourgous, the whole family were comfortable and felt welcome from the moment they arrived. Tracey-Ann and Lesley went out of thier to help, sorting parking, greeting the wedding cars and helping with the general chaos that tends to follow a wedding. My husband and I left very early (5.30am) on the Sunday morning for our honeymoon, and a breakfast of fresh fruit, juice and biscuits was prepared for us so we wouldn't leave hungry. Our room was also carefully tidied of the general wedding clutter before we returned after the reception - a little thing, but something that makes a huge difference to a worn out bride and groom. The rest of my family enjoyed the full breakfast again on the Sunday morning, and were allowed to check out when ready. Everybody had such a good time, and the difference it made to the whole weekend was amazing - this hotel is so worth staying at. Beautiful through and through.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Turret Room which was gorgous - but everyone enjoyed thier rooms so it would be har...

“Wonderful”

My boyfriend and I wanted to get away for the weekend, randomly choosing Hastings. After reading so many excellent reviews on the internet about 'Black Rock House' we decided to give it a whirl. I called and was immediately impressed by the very warm lady on the other end of the phone, Lesley, who booked us in, emailed us a list of restaurant options and generally impressed us from the off.

Upon arrival we were greeted with delicious homemade cake, offered drinks and led into the very chic and inviting lounge where we could unwind in front of the fire. We were shown to our room and were impressed yet again by how cozy, stylish and immaculately clean our 'suite' was, yes 'suite'. We'd booked a double but had a wonderful 'wing' with two bedrooms, a large contemporary bathroom with all mod cons and all the little touches one could want. You could actually just shut yourselves away and never come out again! In fact.... the temptation was great.

After having a taxi booked for us (again, nothing too much trouble for these ladies) we left to visit a local restaurant. Upon returning, we chose a DVD from the array kindly left for guests to help themselves to, and snuggled down to watch said film. Our only complaint is that the bed was so utterly blissful and the room so tranquil that we fell asleep and missed the film!

In the morning we came down to a very inviting dining room and were greeted by Tracey-Ann who was equally as lovely as Lesley. We both ordered the full cooked breakfast and casually read the papers, left out for our pleasure... just the perfect Sunday morning.

This has to be one of the best weekend getaways we have ever had thanks to these ladies, their attention to our every whim and their beautiful establishment.

Thank you!!

“Warm welcome, fantastically comfortable bed, Lovely!”

I stayed the night while on a business trip. It was centrally located and very easy to find. I had the warmest of welcomes from Tracey Anne who scooped up my bag and offered me a glass of wine when I arrived. The room and entire B&B are very stylishly decorated and have all the little extras that make a stay feel luxurious - a DVD library, great selection of new magazines, a guest bar and even nice toiletries! The bed was out of this world comfortable. I slept amazingly well snuggled in the silky sheets and feather pillows. The breakfast was excellent with more than enough options to choose from. Anyone would be happy staying here. I will have to find a reason to go back! It was a lovely, lovely stay.
