“Friends Reunion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

In my opinion, the George IV strikes a lovely balance between a Hotel and a guest house. My boyfriend and I chose Brighton/George IV as our base for a renunion weekend with friends coming from Europe. After a warm welcome, the owners seemed quite inobtrusive but were only a call away if needed. Rooms very clean, nice bed linen, good attention to detail and breakfast brought to our room each morning.

Also the situation of the George is perfect - being set back from the main road with Regency Square in front of the Hotel therefore minimalising traffic noise but still giving wonderful sea views from the front facing rooms.

We hope to revisit this Spring. Can't wait!

“George IV Guest House Weekend break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

Excellent! I took my wife to Brightoin for the weekend as an early Christmas present. The Huest House was as perfect as could be expected. Big clean and warm room, excellent friendly service, Great location and the view from our room over the old West Pier was lovely to wake up to. Would highly recommend this place, and breakfast.
We will definitely be staying here next time we're in Brighton...... If you hear anything bad about this George IV then ignore it.

Room Tip: Room 3 was perfect

“Very good all round”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 December 2011

You have to accept that staying anywhere in Brighton is very expensive and parking is a total nightmare. That said the George IV is in very good location, a short walk into the town centre, and the accommodation is of a high standard. The owners were very welcoming. The breakfast is an additional cost and served in your room. The premises has a lift. There is a secure car park at the rear of the premises run by a company called regency secure parking which costs £10 for 24 hours and which we found very reasonable. We would definitely consider staying there again.

“Great B&B in a great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

Myself and my partner took my mum to Brighton for the weekend. Its the first time we have stayed over so when I used Trip advisor and the interent to see what was more suitable.
The whole place was extrememly clean and we recieved a warm welcome. The bed was so comfy and my mum did comment she wanted to steal the quilt and pillows...

Our rooms wernt massive but we didnt need any bigger for two nights (Our room had a beautiful high ceiling and made the room feel more spacious) and have everything you need, coffee/tea making facilities, fresh milk and water in reception (water is 50p a bottle and really handy as I always forget to buy some), TV with dvd player, Shower, toiletries etc.

We didnt try the breakfast but a good choice - we decided to try one of the many cafes for cooked breakfast.

I stupidly left my phone charger and they kindly are posting it to me which was really nice and shows they go the extra mile for their guests. We will definitely go back.

My only negative is that the floor board above our room (room 2) was really squeaky and the people in the room sounded like they were dancing about all the time... It didnt take anything away from the break as i am a good sleeper but was a little irrating in the morning.

Room Tip: The view from the hotel is beautiful over the green and sea, next time i think a sea view room would...

“Very good guesthouse in the heart of Brighton.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 November 2011 via mobile

Had a very enjoyable long weekend using George IV as a base.

Good that breakfast is an option - although we didn't partake, menu looked to have a good choice of cold options. Nice complimentary basket in the room - proper milk from the fridge downstairs too rather than having to fiddle with little longlife pot things!

Owners friendly but unobtrusive (just how we like it) - helpful and accommodating when asked.

Nice view of Regency Square from our top floor Sea View room. Very quiet too - the only distraction we had was early evening residents fireworks on the square on Saturday 5th November - and that was a nice distraction!

Jukebox in lounge is worth a look - could have sat there a while and played a load of good tunes if we hadn't had other nights out organised.

Would definitely recommend and return if ever down in Brighton again.
