A group of us stayed in this hotel for 1 nighton new years eve, we payed £80.0 pre night which i fought was quite good considering it was new year, we all had an image in our heads that the hotel was going to be basic as it was a 2* which ws fair enough as we had booked this knowing this fact, all we expected was the rooms to be clean , WELL when we arrived outside the hotel, we thought it was a joke.. the outside looked shabby, tired and very let down...we walked in to the reception area if you can call it that and began to check in, a long proces to check in all done manually with no computer systems, i was asked for a £50.00 deposit in case we damaged the room... by doing this i thought the rooms must be nice for them to be doing this, walked in the room, nearly tripped over by the lack of a sign to say there is a step as you open the door!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a shock the room was, paint all over the floor, spreading through the whole room, bathroom floor was discussing, there was no way i was walking in there without my shoes on, windows so dirty you could not see out of them...paint all over the shower curtains, the cabernet was all marked and full of wood chips, if it was not new years eve then there would be no way i would have stayed in this hotel, when it was time to check out the receptionist just took my key and that was it, no "how was you stay " or "thank you" On the plus side but this has nothing to do with the hotel,, Brighton is a great place.. Please do not come to this hotel if you want a clean room.
