“Our first visit - but not our last !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

Having just stayed at Brighton House for the first time (in early January 2012) we are happy to report that the experience lived up to our high expectations – which we had largely based on other people’s favourable reviews on Trip Advisor.

Our room (# 39) is nicely furnished and it has a large comfortable bed. The room is warm, clean, well equipped and quiet, therefore we enjoyed a good nights sleep. We loved the 'little touches', such as complimentary apples in our room and homemade cake on offer in the hallway !

The staff were all friendly (as was Mr. Watts, the resident cat !) and helpful.

The extensive breakfast buffet was great. It was full of interesting options and enjoyable flavours, including a number of homemade breads and plenty of organic produce.

Brighton House has a delightfully relaxed, and attractive atmosphere. Now that we have sampled it, we can't wait to return - which we have just booked up to do in March !

Meanwhile, it might be helpful to know that, for parking our car overnight we used one of Brighton House’s recommended companies – Regency Secure Parking – and we would happily recommend them too.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear of the Hotel are probably quieter but we found our room at the front of the Hotel...

Room was lovely and spacious, so was the bathroom (but then again for the price paid we wouldn't have expectd any less) the staff there are just so friendly and helpful! Breakfast was simple delicious with so many options so overall thumbs up! Will definitely be going back there again!

Room Tip: If you want privacy, pick the room in the lower ground floor.. However if you are quite short, the m...

“clean and comfortable accomodation”

Welcomed by Carl at reception (which doubles as part of the breakfast counter). Easy process to get our room key and told about breakfast, etc.
Our room was on the 3rd floor (55 stairs) and makes you think about what you need for the day to stop going up and down stairs (although good for the heart is made me breathless).
The room was clean and warm with a comfy bed and nice tea / coffee making facilities.
Breakfast was filling and fresh. It was nice to get away from the usual English fry-up and enjoy some cereal and decent toast for once.
As this is an old house the walls are thick and we had no noise from anybody overnight.
Overall I'd recommend this hotel for people looking for somewher in the center of Brighton which offered clean rooms and a friendly welcome.

Room Tip: think about how much stair climbing you want to do at the end of a long day.

“Very good value, would stay here again.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

We stayed at Brighton House for two nights. Being able to choose your room is nice, we had a large double room over looking the square and a single(small double next door). Check in was good, we were given maps and a run down of where things were in Brighton. Nice touches like welcome cake and fresh fruit. All staff very pleasant and accomodating. Rooms are light with tall ceillings, well equiped, very good beds. Breakfast was good. You get a key to the front door, which is locked at night. Convienient parking for £10 a day in Regency Terrace, just round the corner.

Room Tip: Room 36 has king size bed, views over square, and not too many stairs.
