“Okay but not strong on the "theme"”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in the Manhattan Penthouse Suite but were a little disappointed in the portrayal of the "theme" as we had dismissed other themed hotels in the area in favour of this one due to its good reviews. A couple of posters stuck on the wall and a small plaster replica of the Empire State Building were the only concessions to the New York Loft Style. The room was very hot (in the winter) and the first thing we had to do was turn off the heating and open the windows, the standing fan was very dusty, there were marks on the sheets (looked like black grease from a machine), the bath panel didn't fit properly. On arrival we had to request the tissue box be filled and a badly flickering tube to be changed in the bathroom. The bed felt small, as we're used to a super king sized one, but it was reasonably comfortable and the pillows neither too hard nor too soft. In reality, this was just a largish room and nowhere near the size of a usual hotel suite. The breakfast was good and the reception staff pleasant and friendly. The hotel is well situated for the Lanes and Kemp Town and if you are visiting Bristol Gardens it is about a 15 minute stroll.

Room Tip: Penthouse suites are very hot. Jacuzzi bath is quite small. Go for the room with the hot tub.

“An enjoyable stay in a good location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Stayed in the "New York Penthouse" & was pleased with the room overall. If we were to be picky, then I'd say that we'd have preferred a super-king bed rather than the standard king-size. Also here & there the hotel looked ready for a quick lick of paint to refresh it. Would we stay here again? Definitely! The experience overall was very good with exceptionally helpful staff.

Booked the indulgence suite for my boyfriends birthday and got included in the price a bottle of bubbly and brakfast in bed. Lovely room, clean and well kept. champagne was nicely chilled when we arrived and the breakfast the next day was hot and fresh. “Fantastic place very friendly and welcoming !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Thank you to the staff at seaspray !
My partner and i came to stay on the 28th Jan for her birthday in the Eden room, loved the treats package especially the infared sauna ! Oh and not forgetting the hot tub in the garden ! Would absolutely recommend here for more than one night like we stayed wish we had stayed longer . Good excuse for next time .
Very helpful and friendly staff, the rooms are very clean and to a good standard if eating out i can highly recommend The Coal Shed for steaks and fish divine ! For Sunday lunch the royal oak over the road, sit by the fire and enjoy very reasonable in both places .
Thank You for such a lovely stay.
Eddie and Tara. X

5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

We have just got back after staying in Eden room here and my goodness the hot tub in the rear garden was worth the extra cash we paid! Well looked after by the staff there too!
If you can afford the Eden room for a romantic weekend then do it :-)
Ps breakfast was AMAZING!
If you go to the dining room you get more options then in your room!

Room Tip: Eden room has a private garden with a hot tub... It was minus 2 and raining but 40 degrees in the tu...
