We stayed 6 nights in July. We were received by partner of the owner in a very uninterested way bordering on unfriendly. The room was very cramped, you had to keep your suitcase closed to move around. A small ventilator couldn't keep the room cool on those warm July nights.
Opening the window meant it was noisy. Either drunks at night and seagulls early morning with their harsh wailing when scavenging the garbage. The particular room we stayed in we could hear guests on the stairs and in the room above. Friendly were the girls serving the breakfast, either students or girls from East Europe. Room cleaning was done very marginally.
Never again, I overheard the owner say he was in need of a holiday, we noticed.

Great location (close to everything), lovely vegetarian breakfast, staff friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

All in all I’m very pleased with my stay at Hudsons. I arrived at my arranged check in time and was met by one of the owners who, as this was my first time in Brighton, took the time to point out some key areas on the map and told me when and where breakfast was served, where the tea and coffee was ETC.
I was staying in a compact double room which was spotlessly clean and had everything you could need including TV, mini bar and hair dryer. The bed was comfortable and I got a really good night’s sleep and there were nice clean towels in the room too. There was also a small DVD library and ironing station in the hallway which I thought was a nice touch!
Breakfast was good; I especially enjoyed the American pancakes with summer berries which was served as a special at the weekend! My room was cleaned each morning while I was at breakfast and the staff were very friendly.
I Would highly recommend this place to anyone and will definitely stay again!!

We were given a half hour window to check in which is difficult when you are traveling from 2 hours away. The greeting was bruske and owner clearly had better things to do, we weren't even shown to our room. The loo had stains in it and towels were smelly, also stained which makes one question the cleanliness of the whole place. The room was over furnished and would benefit from an open window for fresh air. All in all a poor visit which put a dampener on our first wedding anniversary. Would I recommend a friend? No. Would I stay again? Definitely not.
