“Perfect place to lay your head”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

Just back from spending a weekend at Court Craven, and have to say have not one criticism of this place! Friendly and very helpful greeting as we arrived, given us a map of the area, and recommendations of place to eat. (New cafe opened on St James Street -Cornells-absolutely lovely breakfast highly recommended!!) We stayed in a double ensuite on 2nd floor, which was immaculate. Everything was spotlessly clean with fluffy white towels and crisp linen. Tea/coffee facilities which were replenished during our stay. Very quiet with no noise from outside at all - apart from seagulls which cant be helped :-D We left our luggage in front room, until we left for our train, and also a booked taxi if we required it.
We will definitely be coming back to this Hotel and it had everything that we required. They do not serve breakfast but with so many cafes two minutes walk away it really isnt necessary. All brightons amenites a within walkable distance. Anyone looking for a exceptionally clean, quiet, central base in Brighton should look no further. Very reasonably priced too...nothing more to say, except looking forward to returning.

“More than serviceable”

I am not sure I have anything mroe to add than the earlier reviews! No lift, dated in some areas - but who cares! Room was immaculate, comfy bed with clean linen, quiet. Was barely there (too much else to be done in Brighton) but not a single thing I can complain about for the price. It isn't luxury, but it doesnt claim to be...

“Just the job!”

Great little huest house located in kemp town part of Brighton, very well located to seafront and pier, the are lots of bars and restaurants to choose from.

The owners were very friendly and helpful, yes the decor is tired in areas and there are a few stairs if you are at the top of the building as we were, however the room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was nice and hot and easy to use and the rooms rates are very competetive for Brighton, perticularly on a friday and saturday night when we stayed.
To conclude: it was a very succsessful stay, we will definatley return, highly recomemended.

“Cheap, Friendly Staff & Great Location”

Paid next to nothing for two nights Friday & Saturday. Great location with plenty of restaurants around ate out both nights and was great. Only 10 minutes to the pier and the arcades, bit longer for the clubs and pubs. Staff were always friendly and there to help. All in all lovely weekend stay.

“A nice stay, a bit like staying at your nans.”

The hotel is clean on the outside and well sign posted. The owner is extremely friendly dealing with our parking and taking our cases up whilst we tried to find somewhere to park, like everywhere in Brighton parking is a nightmare but passes are available from the owner at £5.50 per day (price Sept 2011).

Interior is a little dated or as I prefer period decorations and work is clearly being done to improve this. Our room at top of 6 flights of stairs and I did find it a little difficult to get to room at times due to my fitness and health. The room was much larger than I expected big bay window and sea view (to the side).

The en suite was small and for me (a very big guy) getting to use the loo with door shut was like human Tetris! Shower was more a mixer tap with hose but was big enough to shower safely. However it is more than functional. A small table and chairs along dressing table (spare single bed) completed the room.

The bed was very comfortable the sheets, like everything else, very clean and fresh.

No breakfast supplied but there are a number of cafes on St James street just seconds away.

It is a walk from town but this helped with making the room quiet and at night you can just hear the sea on the pebbles. Is is a little shy of midway between the town and marina. On a very plus side you can get in and out of Brighton without going into the town centre. A MASSIVE bonus as Brighton traffic planning seems to be random at best!

Whilst the decor was a bit traditional I would recommend this hotel without hesitation
