This is the second time myself and my partner have stayed in this hotel, the staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them... We had a sea view room which was excellent, the food is very good value for money, the bar is well stocked... It is close to the shops, the beach, the pier and we would definitly book again....

Room Tip: Sea facing rooms are the best

“Seriously noisy hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

The only reason to writing this review, is that having just stayed and having looked at previous comments, all looked good. To be honest though, regardless of a hotels cleanliness or happy staff, if you're lying awake until 5am in the morning with the constant thud of drum and base from the club next door, alongside the clubbers smoking outside and the bar below....then you're not going to have a great nights stay!
If you don't need sleep and want a brilliant location, this is the place for you. But at £125 a room....it's seriously overpriced for what you get.

“Good but not great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 October 2011

Reading the other reviews of this hotel raised my expectations but we were a bit disappointed overall really. The location is great, right across from the pier and 5-10 minutes walk into the Lanes and bars/restaurants. A 15 minute walk (downhill) from the train station so get a taxi back up! The weather was great and Brighton is a great place to visit so this made our trip. On arrival we dropped our bags at the hotel which was at about 12pm and they told us to come back about 2-3pm to check in, we returned at 3.10 but couldn't get into the room till 5 so we wasted a bit of time hanging around as we were told a couple of times "it'll be ready soon!" but wish we had gone off to the beach instead now. I appreciate they were busy but we often had to go through to the bar to find staff and the seemed a bit disorganised although they were friendly and helpful. The room itself was very clean and well thought out in that there was a full length mirror with a hairdryer on the wall next to it but it was very small, cramped and hot, could have really done with a fan. The decor of the room was also very dated and basic. The bed was amazing though, I slept really well, linen and duvet were good quality. The bathroom was a wet room but didn't function well in that if you had a shower the whole floor was wet for ages so if you just went to the loo you got wet feet. Nice hot shower though. We did get a good rate for this booking and it was just a one night stay on a Saturday which is notoriously hard to get both so I didn't expect anything amazing but just wanted to let others know not all the rooms are that great. A mixed experience with good and bad points but I probably wouldn't book this hotel again unless I booked a better standard of room.

Room Tip: Rooms on back very quiet but not a great view but you can't have it all!

“A great nites sleep”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

Went and stayed here with my partner, we stayed for just under a week, the beds were comfy, the room was clean, the windows were clean. It was great all over experience.

Room Tip: Get one facing the sea
