“Wow. Quirky great hotel with warm friendly staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

Stayed in the Play Room suite for one night and before we had even left me and my girlfriend were thinking of the next occasion which we could justify coming back for.
After being recommended the room by word of mouth I booked directly through the hotel website. Upon arrival we were informed of all the hotel information and breakfast details for the following morning, our room was spotless clean and what a room it is. The 8ft bed was unbelievable and has to be seen, the private courtyard adjoining the living room area is perfect for smokers. If staying in the Play Room you also get a key to your own front door area from the street which is ideal for those returning in the small hours. Breakfast choice was varied and had something for everyone. The locally sourced meats with the breakfast were a nice touch as are the locally sourced drinks behind the bar as well as the regular brands. A taxi was called for us by the very helpful Amy upon departure but we could have easily stayed another night. Would not hesitate to return or recommend to friends.

Room Tip: Spend a bit more and go for the Play Room - well worth it ;)

“Rock and roll themed hotel, awesome for a honeymoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 November 2011

We stayed here on the last nights of our honeymoon. We loved the room we were in, The Stoli Room. There were light changing bottles of vodka set into the walls and other Russian accessories to the room. The room had a nice view of the beach and the water. The bar downstairs was great and the bartender very nice. All of the staff made us feel welcome and were very helpful. The breakfast was great and had nice views of the beach and water also.
We were very close to shopping and restaurants and very close to the water.
It was a very fun place to stay with a lot of character. Great for honeymooners!

Room Tip: Check out the list of rooms thoroughly as they are all different and all fun!

“Friendly and hip and right on the sea front”

We were welcomed like old friends at reception without it feeling intrusive and the staff over our stay were friendly and helpful and happy to make recommendations of where to go and how to get there. Amy who checked us in was perky and chatty which was great after a long journey. The room we had was clean, fun and had some great Ren bathroom goodies to use. Breakfast was served quickly and was tasty with unlimited fruit juice and cereal. The vibe is probably not to the tastes of older or business travellers per se, but was spot on for our fun overnight stay. Definitely stay here again next time if only to try out one of the other themed rooms and the karaoke bar, can't wait!

“Funky hotel, great location & fab breakfast.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Nice enough hotel & brilliant location! Breakfast was lovely lots of choice.
Stayed in pin up parlour room, good detail however, close up it looked like 60 minute make up team had been in there and everything was a bit shabby. Not enough attention to detail. Was also bit dusty. massive stain on the carpet in the middle of the floor. Shower room was tiny. The tv didn't work to start off with, after it was fixed still couldn't get any reception. I thought it was quite pricey for what it was. Staff were nice and friendly.

“A hotel with funk and soul!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

Fair warning: This hotel isn't for everyone. If you want some posh lodging with classical music playing in the lobby, go elsewhere.

This hotel is really more of a bed and breakfast type of stay, because breakfast (the menu is AMAZING!!) is included in the price of your stay. Each room has a theme, and I personally stayed in the Soul Room. Purple walls, vinyl records (and player!) and a large and VERY comfortable bed. I'd call this hotel a "dive" but must emphasize how clean and comfortable the room was. The ocean is a block away, and you are a few minutes walk from the Brighton Pier (both the burnt down and still standing piers) as well as shopping, food, etc.

The prices were amazing (stayed on a Thursday night) and keep in mind they do include breakfast.

Room Tip: More of a "choose your own adventure" as far as rooms go - whatever decor you prefer, go f...
