Stayed here for 5 nights in room 17 on the 3rd floor facing Charlotte Street.

Good things: Configuration of the room was great. The door from the main hall opened into a little hallway with the bathroom to the right and the bedroom to the left. Great for privacy in the bathroom. The room had a big bed and enough space to wander around. There were 2 lockers with lamps with soft lights, a table and chair and a hospitality tray. There were full length mirrors on the wardrobe doors. From the bay window there was a view of Charlotte Street and to the right there was a good view of the water. There was also an iron, ironing board and a small hair dryer (good enough to dry long hair but not good enough to style). There was also a tv. The street noise seemed pretty distant.

The bathroom was modern and looked good. The shower was large enough to move around in and the stream of water was strong enough (not a power shower but much better than those annoying ones that only drip). Nice shampoo and soap were provided and the towels were of good quality.

Breakfast was really great -- especially for vegetarians. See the menu on their webite. It really is as good as the other reviewers wrote. So nice to be able to get soja milk!

Free wifi.

Bad things: A lot of grime on and around the hinges of the toilet seat made it clear that deep cleaning doesn't happen very often. During the 5 day stay it was clear that housekeeping was kept to a minium in the room. The bed was made and the towels changed if requested but not much more. Books that I left on the floor weren't picked up or even moved in order to clean, toiletries weren't replaced with the frequency I would have expected. The white wall in the room was stained and really needs a fresh coat of paint. Coffee at breakfast could be a lot stronger. Some people might find the mattress too soft and the lights too dim for reading.

This was a really nice guest house with a fantastic breakfast and a great location. They do let themselves down a lot with the housekeeping, though. Imporve on this this and I'll give 5 stars.

Just spent 3 nights at Paskins and loved every minute. The staff are polite efficient and friendly. Breakfasts are imaginative and beautifully presented in a cosy dining room. I can't imagine getting a better breakfast at a 5* hotel.
Paskins is in an excellent location for the town centre but being on a side road it is still very quiet.
Our room was spotless and well decorated, we will definitely be returning.

We stayed at Paskins for 2 nights for our wedding and loved it! The staff are brilliant, incredibly friendly and really couldn't do enough to help - even going out of their way at my request to buy balloons for the room. The room was well decorated and a good size for us (2 adults and a 14 month old) and they provided a travel cot, as well as high chair at breakfast. It had everything we needed, some of which wasn't breakable when challenged by a toddler.

The breakfast was great - good range of choices (especially for vegetarians) and generous portion sizes, even for the larger eater such as myself. It's well located for the sea and town centre which is about a 10 minute seafront walk away.

All-in-all we loved it and would definitely go back - and would (and have) recommend it to our friends. And it's cheaper than other places including chain hotels where you just wouldn't get the same service or atmosphere
