I stayed at this hotel for two nights. As part of the Hilton chain it would have been fair to expect a decent standard of accomodation, but the hotel was disappointing.
A classic seaside hotel, I'm sure this hotel was great in its glory days. However, it's all looking a bit tired now.
The hallways all smelled of the chlorine from the basement leisure centre - right up to the sixth floor. Our room was very small, stuffy and over-crowded with furniture and the decor was tired and tatty. There was barely room to turn around in the bathroom. Half of the tv stations didn't work.
Unfortunately, some other inconsiderate guests made a lot of noise outside our room in the night - not the hotel's fault, but if the rooms were a little better sound insulated it wouldnt be an issue. Sadly, this was made worse by staff hoovering outside our door at 9am on a Sunday morning - something the hotel can control.
On the plus side, the location is good, all the reception and bar staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel has some good facilities.
If you go - just make sure you get a decent sized room!
